Unfortunately there is no way he hangs around at his current salary. They won't exercise his option next year, making him a free agent. It's very possible they resign him at a significantly reduced rate but I have a feeling Rex Ryan or another team like the Colts will be all over him and make a higher offer
His salary cap space needs to be removed and replaced with Hightower next contract
We have something like 20 million in dead money coming off the books next year so with Mayos cap space freed up, they should be able to extend Hightower, Jones and Solder. They also need to make sure they have room for Collins, and Butler is only on a 2 or 3 year deal I think and will want to be paid but they don't have to worry about that in 2016
Soldier signed a two year extension, are you talking about his next deal after that?
