Where have you seen that Orlando Brown was benched and is considered a failure? Brown was playing at LT today against the Seahawks. Game 1 and Game 7 are the only 2 games prior to this week where he didn't play 100% of the snaps. He played in 91% and 93% respectively.
I'm way behind. You may be right. I was referencing stuff from the start to middle of the season. There was a lot of negative stuff from KC fans about him getting pulled during games.

Look at this article: Orlando Brown’s mediocrity harms Chiefs present and future plans

"After Week 4, Brown was amongst the worst offensive tackles in the league. His nine quarterback hurries allowed is tied for the league’s worst mark, while he ranks in the bottom five for quarterback hits allowed, pressures allowed, and sacks allowed. Again, take it for what it is worth, but Brown’s 54.9 PFF grade for pass blocking ranks 48th amongst offensive tackles."

They've never stopped trying to do this in 20 years. They've also never hit.

Michael Bishop, Rohan Davey, Kliff Kingsbury, Matt Cassel, Kevin O'Connell, Zac Robinson, Ryan Mallet, Jacoby Brisset, Danny Etling, Jarrett Stidham, Bailey Zappe

It's something the Patriots can do and maybe should do regularly just to have a cheap backup.
I'd call Cassel a hit. He may have been bad for all but 2 seasons of his career, but he was good enough to give us hope after the Brady injury in 2008, then netted us Patrick Chung. Not bad for a 7th round pick.

Brown is overhyped for some reason, maybe it's the legacy of the name. I've never viewed him as a better than a middle of the pack starter. He's surely not worth the draft compensation Baltimore received for him or the $20 million he's projected to sign for. Let the Bears make that mistake.

If you're going to go all-in, go all-in. Sign Quinton Nelson, bench Cole Strange a year and groom him to play center. Andrews is on year 8, every year is borrowed time after this. Then take some of those stockpiled picks, move into the top 10, and get an elite LT.

I would not hate a move to C for Strange.

I dont start offensive prospects for a few weeks but not sure there's a guy worthy for that big of a move. I think Wright, Bergeron and Skor are near top tier but not sure they're lottery picks. I know this is going to be a big topic in a few months so I've been paying a little extra attention to this group. Guys will always get overdrafted at the most important positions but I think you can get a really good tackle in RD2. More aligned with their value imo.

Those would be the three I'm looking at early though. Wright is clear cut OT1. I like Bergeron a little more than others it seems and think he'll be OT2 or 3. He's really good and Skor right there.

Skor could be a piece inside or outside depending on if the staff really thinks a move to C is worth it.

But guys like Harrison (another guy I'm a little higher on), both Jones boys, Freeland, Warren are just as intriguing to me in the 2nd or 3rd RD as the above mentioned are early on.

Good class, good depth but not really top heavy. It'll be very interesting how we work these positions bc again neither are top heavy in the draft or FA. I wrote about WR & T recently so I have an idea of how I'd approach it but very curious to see what we do.

Offensive tackle, particularly LT is a big need for this team but let's address the elephant in the room. What about a new Quarterback?

Way above my pay grade and I've not even paid.

I pretty sure Mac is QB barring a trade we can't say no to. We drafted him 15th a few years ago. Is someone really giving us a a 1st and 3rd? Or Zappe beats him out. I think both are unlikely and I love Zappe. Jackson?

I think the organization feels embarrassed overall and trading Mac doesn't solve the other issues. Which there's a lot of. I think we feel embarrassed and hopefully confront the big issues like OC, philosophy, OT1, WR1, legit slot. We're spinning our heels.

Mac has to play better, 100%. I've been on him, as hard as anyone but he's problem #4/5. Not 1 - 3. Believe if there's a chance we upgrade or want to go QB in the draft (depending on the guy) I'm not against it. I just think we know we have egg on our face and throw the kitchen sink at Mac hitting his ceiling.

Unfortunately in a year of when we really need one I’m not convinced this draft class is well stocked at the LT position. Plenty of interior hogs. Tired of the possible might be able to play LT at the next level kind of picks.

Couple of QBs I’m eying and two wrs so far that intrique me in the first. Think the secondary is mint on this team but another safety would be nice for possible McCourty departure.

Always could use front 7 help on defense. They weren’t that bad as a combined group at all. Thought LBs were going to be horrific but they played well still looking for that “one” off the charts talents that takes them to the next level though.

Like most seasons fans will focus on "weapons" because they think those automatically = offense... they don't. And frankly the Pat's weapons under contract are very good, they just look like crap because of the coaching situation and possibly having to start the backup QB over this year's starter.

Appreciate you saying this, and wonder how many attempts have been made on your life since you did.

We absolutely need help in the defensive secondary: a FS to replace McCourty, and TWO boundary CBs because Jonathan Jones isn"t one of those; he's a Slot CB at his best.

There are definitely some RTs that should be available in FA. That would allow the Pats to focus on a Swing tackle in the draft.
Jawaan Taylor - Eagles
Mike McGlinchey - 49ers
Elgton Jenkins - GB

Jenkins already agreed to an extension in green bay
I would add mcgary from the falcons because he stepped up his fame this season kn the new run heavy offense with progress in both pass pro and run block

To be fair, those two good years were likely the only years he had coaches who believed in him.

The problem with bringing in any veteran is that you're going to give up most of the salary cap space to do it.

I hadn't heard that about Jenkins.. Thanks for the info.

The Pats have 48M in cap space this year. The 1st season hit is almost never what the AAV. There is plenty of money to go around.

LT. Think Cody Mauch. Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota State | NFL Draft Scouting Report

FS. McCourty is playing his last year. That’s why last year I was high on Dax Hill.

CB. Shaun Wade isn’t seeing the field. We need a non-short boundary corner. I like a kid from Maryland. Deonte Banks.

RT next year will likely be a resigned Trent Brown. So a developmental player. Not sure what’s the future for Steuber.

C. Andrews is almost done. The guy playing in the Pin Strip Bowl today is decent. John Michael Schmitz. But he looks like a top pick as well.

NT/DT Barmore really hasn’t fulfilled his promise this year. Maybe the nagging injury. And my favorite player isn’t getting any younger. Talking about Lawrence Guy.

Lotta help still needed here for 2023; more than some people realize.

Sorry for the delay.
A few things:
Raleigh Webb is a WR the same way that Matthew Slater is a WR.
Okay.
When did Jack Jones become a "Slot Corner"? Jack Jones is 1/4" shorter than Ty Law was.
Ty Law weighed 200 pounds leaving college. Jack Jones weighed 177 pounds. Law also ran sub 4.4 forties, Jones more like 4.5.
Josh Uche is Pass-Rush Specialist. I think he's growing into being a better OLB, but he's not there yet. Not sure why you have him listed at MLB.
I think he's becoming a complete LB, his size has me listing him as ILB. He plays outside, but he can play anywhere.

He needs to stay healthy and continue to improve potential weaknesses out in space. But mostly he needs to stay healthy.
Why do you have lines through DeMarcus Mitchell and Ronnie Perkins?
I already said why.
Addington is a UFA after the season.
Who?
I honestly believe the brought Mills in to take over from DMac. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pats sign a big name CB this off-season.
Me neither, or they could draft two. One to play CB and one to play FS.

Mills getting hurt was the most potentially debilitating injury the defense dealt with this season after Barmore.
OT - I totally agree that they need a LT and a Swing Tackle to go with Trent Brown and Connor McDermott.
I don't consider Connor McDermott, other than a backup swing tackle role. But he's not untalented, he's a back of the roster type guy. The problem is the they have too many back of the end roster guys and not enough front of the roster guys.

They need another stud, and another, they should find two or more in the draft or free agency.
CB - A CB over 6'0 would be nice. You don't typically find good ones like that outside the 1st round of the draft. Patrick Peterson will be available on a short deal and he's still playing a ton of snaps despite his age. There are several 5'11 starters who are going to be FAs at the end of the year. I expect only 2 to be franchised in Peters and Bradberry. Jamel Dean from the Bucs could be someone the Pats target. At 6'2 he can cover taller receivers.
They'll have double digit draft picks after compensatory picks are allotted. Plus they currently have the 4th most cap space with the 4th most players under contract for 2023. They're in really really good shape. They've handled the cap well.
LB - the Pats us Nickel and Dime packages more than anyone else, using the 4-3 Under as their base. That takes a LB off the field in favor of the additional safety in Dugger. They do need a Faster LB who can cover RBs/TEs but can also hold up against the run to put on the field opposite Bentley. People have mentioned Tremaine Edmunds from Buffalo. Wouldn't be surprised if Buffalo put the Transition tag on him. the only LB I see getting tagged is Quincy Williams of the Jets.
Everybody uses nickel base, it's the NFL standard now.

Agreed, they can add a lot to the interior size and speed of this defense.
RB - There are going to be a BUNCH of good RBs available. David Montgomery, Pollard, Jacobs, Barkley, Jamaal Williams (Lions). I would expect the Pats to add a Vet who can run and catch the ball. Someone who can push Stevenson, Strong, and Harris, but be the guy to step in if there is an injury.
They shouldn't overpay on RB. If they can bring Harris back at a reasonable deal that's a good signing.
I hope they don't bring Bryant back. Almost nothing good seems to happen when he's on the field.
Nope.

Tackle, boundary corner, safety, true slot receiver
