Pats to play in Old England in '06?

Never happen with the Pats, BB would be ballistic.

It'd be awesome, though. Wembley's only an hour and a half from here.

Should we all have some "TEA" to discuss this game?

Tea and strumpets?

It would have to be a team like Jacksonville, Tennesee, Oakland, teams that dont seem to draw much at home... The Pats cant lose a home game, that would be idiotic...

pats @ dolphins in UK

i am allready now EXCITED !!!

it should be FANTASTIC !!!

I REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPE IT WILL HAPPENS !!

surely there will be fans coming from all Europe...

what a day could be...

let's hope it will happens !!!

NE and Miami for a preseason game would make sense for Miami.

London is not much further than California, The forth game is a joke anyway. It could be held on a friday at 9 pm which would make a 4 oclock start on the east coast.

The teams will then fly back and get in at about 5 in the morning local on Sat.

I is only 1 hour more of flight time than SD

it should be a regular season game not a preseason game

I sincerely hope you know the difference between a crumpet and a strumpet. :D

Ah, but which is more fun to have tea with? ;)

There's also talk of a Thurs. night opener double header.

From Projo.com:
FOOTBALL The 2006 NFL season most likely will start in Pittsburgh on Sept. 7. The Thursday opener could be part of a doubleheader, one beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern time and the second at 9. p.m., NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said yesterday. He also said the league is still open to a game overseas for the 2006 season, perhaps in London's Wembley Stadium. The 2006 schedule will be disclosed in April, although some games, such as the opener, may be announced earlier.

in my opinion there could be a 'sold out' if there will be really an NFL game in London.

Fans will come from all Europe...Me included...

I really hope it will happen and IF the Pats should be one of the teams... wow...

i hope it will be: ne @ ... (who cares ?)

ESPN's Daily Quickie points out an obvious candidate for the team that should give up a home game: the Giants, who, regardless of what the NFL might claim, had NINE home games in 2005.

my first choice could be NE @ MIA...

but also NE @ NYJ...

how many possibilities there really exist that NE will be one of the two teams ?

I think the whole time zone thing would nix that idea. :)

We could have a Tuesday Morning game over here and then you lot would know what it is like to be an NFL fan in Europe!

It says a lot about the transport system in London that I live in South East London (near Bromley) and it would take me a good hour to get there.

I think that idea of the giants would be a real possibility.... 9 home games got them into the playoffs...

Road trip!!!

As I prepare to travel back to Foxboro from the Pro Bowl today - I think a London flight would be easy!

I would love such an opportunity to go to London and see the Pats.

It would have to be the other teams home game.
It would have to either be the Thursday 2nd game season opener or come with a bye week the following week.

I think it would be awesome....

The NFL has been forced to abandon the UK in NFLE. Bringing a real game to the UK would help restir interest, I suppose.

As regards the time and distance questions, this is little problem. Hopping a plane from Boston to London East, or LA West, is about the same time in the air. As far as broadcasting it would actually be beneficial. A 1:00 PM Sunday kickoff in London would be just right for "Sunday Night Football" in the USA.
