Somewhere the reporting said Miami played some 3-4, and he slid over to end at those times.

It sounds as if this guy is the replacement for Wright, Green, or (horror!) Warren, whichever of them winds up leaving.

As for Wilfork's backup -- that's either a specialist like LeKevin Smith, or else it's by committee of the DEs.

He could also be a replacement for "the invisible" one Marquis Hill. You forgot that he was still on the roster, didn't you? ;)

This was bugging me.. they have had so many good lineman. I doubt it was
Wilfork because he was more of a plugger in the middle.

Candidates
Russell Maryland
Warren Sapp
Jerome Brown
Don Latimer
Vinnie Holiday
Vince Wilfork

Does anyone have the answer?

here you go

so now we have 3 Miami DT. He seems to small to play 3-4 DT. May turn out to be another Klecko (yea I said it)

He's 6'4" 290lbs.
Wilfork is 6'2" 325lbs.

He'll be a DT/DE in NE's system, and I think he'll be a lot better than some on here think he'll be. Remember, Wright is a FA after the season, Hill hasn't lived up, and Warren will be a FA before long. It's a good pick.

he played at 320 last season, but dropped 20lbs for the draft...or so the story goes...

Yup, he played at something like 310-315lbs. He probably dropped that weight to be faster, and so 4-3 teams would be interested. He'll probably go back upto that weight now that he's been drafted by NE. So, he'll likely play at 6'4" 315-320lbs.
