In the midst of all the Maroney basjhing threads, the bashers were all convinced that Addai was a far better back and already had proven himself.
Interestingly, once again we find that those who jump to conclusions usually turn out wrong.
For the season, the stats for these 2 now look very different than they did when the argument was Maroney just didn't have as many opportunities BY DESIGN.
YTD
Maroney 166 carries/789 yards/4.8 per rush/65.8 ypgame
Addai 257 carries/1045 yards/4.1 per rush/74.6 per game.
(As to the idea that Addai gets the ball more because the Patriots don't trust Maroney, its 18.4 to 13.8 carries. A WHOPPING 4 1/2 carries a game seems to obviously indicate the best pass offense in the NFL decides to pass more over a lack of trust between the 2 teams and their #1 RB)
Addai is gaining a grand total of 8.8 extra yards on those 4 1/2 carries as well.
For the year, Addai has carried 91 more times for 256 yards (an average of 2.8 per carry) I guess if we gave Maroney 4 1/2 more carries a game and he gained 9 yards on them, we'd feel better?
Since the Patriots/Colts game, these are the numbers for each:
Maroney 77/372/4.83/4 TDs
Addai 108/341/3.16/5 TDs
Please, all the bashers come back and explain how Addai is 'clearly better than Maroney' how 'it isn't close' and how 'its a joke to even consider Maroney in Addai's class'.
This should be fun.
