...the nfl will announce the suspension a day before the season stars.
This statement is wrong. NFLPA had enough ammo without this other stuff to get the suspension thrown out.
Exactly. If they think they're going to wear down Brady on a matter of principal where he's in the right, then they know as much about Brady's competitive nature as they do about basic gas physics. The league's leaks suggesting that they expect Brady eventually to relent and accept a suspension must be pissing him off even more. Could these guys be any more cluelsss?
I have said all along that unlike Kraft with the lost draft picks, I think I will support Brady with whatever decision he decides since this is about him more than the team. That said, I will be very disappointed in him if he lets Goodell and the NFL wear him down and cave on a suspension. I don't want Goodell winning in any way.
If that were the case, then what would be the difference other than a fan fawning over the good looking QB hero vs. the wrinkled old owner in the luxury box?
I don't think Brady would cave, but if he did and if the same same people villifying Kraft let Brady off the hook, then all that holy righteousness has been high school popularity contest hypocracy.
I would be just as upset at Brady if he meekly accepted any penalty in this (other than 50K for whatever "non-cooperation") as I am at Kraft. It doesn't matter if he is the good looking QB.
It is not "more about him than about the team" as you wrote. If he accepts any guilt in this, he puts his stamp of approval for the haters to cast all the previous Patriots SB victories as tainted.
He would be just as bad as Kraft.
Disagree, Kraft supposedly has the power and influence to fight this (and Spygate as well) but choose to be goodell's lap dog instead. When the Pat's get attacked he backs the attackers. He has thrown Belichick and Brady under the bus. Brady just wants to play football. Kraft is much, much worse IMO

If Goodell offered to give back the first and fourth as long as Brady takes four games, would anyone say no to that.
