So the idea is to put the deflategate ruling on hold, measure every ball for every game of the 2015 season (pregame, mid game, post game), record them in a spread sheet/graph to benchmark accurately the variances in pressure.
From an abstract view I like the idea. While not perfect it is the kind of thing that makes the statement that fairness and the betterment of the game are singularly important. (side note: it could also quantify how QBs perform at the various football pressure levels including sub categories of more than 10 yard throws, 20 yard throws etc etc).
With that said, the idea would require a fair and unbiased implementation and process. Does anyone, even Patriot haters who think Brady was the guy behind the grassy knoll, believe Goodell and his merry band of lops will let the process of measurements/recordings play out scientifically and with accuracy of the utmost importance? Or do you, me, most everyone believe the NFL's version of SPECTRE will shape, cajole, manipulate, do everything they can to make sure the measuring/recording process results in what they want the results to conclude (certainly that Brady is even more certain to be guilty)? Since it is obvious to everyone except Borges and the rest of the insular circle of click bait rubes that the NFL can't be trusted to do anything fairly, what happens after they have manufactured the results of the football measuring? I'll bet the mortgage payment the NFL will rev up the PR machine to change rules, change football handling, even change manufacturing process/ingredients in footballs in order to show they are In Charge! of doing everything for the "integrity of the game" and these changes are needed. Succinctly put. it will show Brady is guilty and Goodell must exert more power to show nothing can stand in the way of his righteous charge.
No way! No way do I trust Goodell and his lot to do/measure anything fairly and I certainly don't trust them to not warp the game itself even more just to play PR. Forget it! Goodell can just release whatever silly nonsense he has and let's get onto whatever the next step of the appeal is. Let's get it to where it needs to be as quickly as possible; a venue that the NFL has no power or influence over, one that has the power to smack the NFL in the mouth if the evidence and law justifies it.
