LOL - Hilarious Denver Media Homerism

Denver media (and fan base) as a collective whole has in my opinion been more homer-centric than any other NFL team's - even Indy's. As someone mentioned previously, it is ironic (or maybe not a coincidence) that Peyton Manning has spent his career in those two markets. When anybody claims Mike Reiss is a homer, I have them compare him to Klis with the Broncos - it is not even remotely close.

At the other end of the spectrum are the northeast markets (Philly, NYC and Boston).

I was referring to the entire period between 2012-2015. Of course we've received a ton of media coverage due to Deflategate and the SB victory.

But over the last few years, it's been mostly about Peyton and Denver.

Yeah, in the regular season. That's as far as it goes. That's usually as far as they go, too....

Sure they're not Jacksonville, but, are they the "Center of the NFL Universe"????????

No, they're not. I was damning with faint praise. :)

As original AFL teams go, the Broncos are clearly above average in franchise importance. Patriots, Dolphins, Raiders and Jets have claims to be ahead, for various reasons, but that's about it.

The Jets?!?!?

The Jets?!?!?

For PR and attention, especially around Super Bowl 3.

This thread is about being the center of attention as much as about anything else.

Further, it's pretty clear that NFL management makes many of its decisions on the basis of "What would be best for the Jets?"

Everyone constantly anoints them the "midseason SB champs." The Broncos and Peyton are all the media talks about, it seems.

Then January rolls around and they go one and done.

This. They've been mid-season champs four years in a row.

I kinda hope for Peyton's sake that he retires, I wonder if he did if elway would try and grab Stafford

Denver will receive more attention this season as the NFL and their media lackeys (I'm looking at you, ESPN) would love to see a team prevent NE from getting back to the Superbowl, and they are among the favourites to do it?
Add Peyton's impending record combined with the man crush the media has on him and it's hardly surprising that there's a larger than average media presence there this weekend.

I also reckon that there would be a larger media presence at NE if journalists ever expected BB and co to say anything..?

Who cares what the Denver media says about itself? Let them think they are super important, it'll just make them sadder when they fail
