Miguel has a link on a stickied thread three from the top.Does anybody have a copy of the rule......this could be the point.
i believe they said they were reading from the "league bylaws" does anybody know how that relates to the memo that was sent out last month? wasn't that pretty explicit that you couldn't record at all, period?
are the bylaws online?
There's so many different things, it's tough to say for sure. The stuff from yesterday was from some Gametime Operations Manual or some such nonsense.i believe they said they were reading from the "league bylaws" does anybody know how that relates to the memo that was sent out last month? wasn't that pretty explicit that you couldn't record at all, period?
It would make sense that Belichick taped the signals for intent to use in Week 15, though Goodell couldn't condone this either, even though the "letter of the law" says it can't be used DURING THE GAME.
this is exactly why i think this whole issue will be dropped with no penalties
Cousin,
That is a good post. This might be where the BB "interpretation of the rules" comes from. If he did NOT get to use the tape to help the team "during this specific game", than how can RG nail him? If your wording is exact and concise, they can get him on attempted "filming" only. It would appear that if your wording is correct again further, using tape for a following teams contest is considered a non-issue because the specific tape was being done for a specific game. Stealing is allowed and condoned by the NFL and done by all teams so that part is really a mute point. All the past incidents are innuendo and cannot be proven. Whereas all teams legally "cheat" in the NFL, you can't single out BB as a "cheater". Wicked, nasty attempted filmer, yes.

Granted, he will still say it's a violation perhaps.......
We may still get slapped for actually having the camera on-field though. As long as it's clarified that we did not violate rules when it comes to cheating.
wishfull thinking take it from where it came the big fat showWWWWOOOOWWWW! If this is true.....how much crow will all of the naysayers in the media have to eat over this one! Thats awesome. BB needs to dig up a recipe for some crow pie, bake up about 20 of them and send them to ESPN, Mike Tomlin, LT,......hell he may have to set up a crow pie factory! That is as long as it is not a voilation of league rules.
