I find it hilarious to hear BB say this because he says it is what it is so much.

Context?
...

I love BB, he's one of the top people I'd love to just meet and pick their brain (#1 being Neil Armstrong)

While Mayo's injury does suck, the context that BB used as it not being a season ender doesnt suck. So, I guess it is what it is right?

On one hand it sucks, on the other hand its MUCH better then last years week one knee fiascal.

BTW - Signbabybrady - get a job and walk my dog. Thanks.

I do believe that BB is the originator behind "It is what it is" becoming a national catch-phrase. I remember when he first started saying it repeatedly, everyone thought it was funny. Now, everyone uses it.

People used to say it after Bill Clinton said, "It depends on what the meaning of is, is." Then people said, "It is what it is."

Anecdote: I know someone that met Bill and Hillary at a function, and when he introduced himself to the Clintons, he said: "I'm glad you said that [to Bill, about the "is" line"] because I have staked my whole career on our need to think about all the meanings of 'is.'" Hillary broke up laughing. Bill was not amused in the least, he frowned.

You'll find the exact line in a John donne poem from the 1600s.
