It's easy, and only takes a few moments. When healthy, he is the best "game changing LB" in the NFL besides DeMarcus Ware. If Merriman plays like the Merriman of old, you are nuts if you wouldn't want this guy on your team. And he is only 24! Your telling me that someone on the Pats roster is better than him? The only way Merriman doesn't get franchised is if he has an average year and English has a great year. With that said, I'm pretty sure the Chargers will franchise Merriman.
Speaking of DeMarcus Ware, he isn't going anywhere. Either the Cowboys give him whatever he wants or they simply franchise him.
As of right now, Peppers is the Pats best shot. If Peppers is smart, he will take a page out of Asante Samuel's school of business and have a written agreement that Peppers can't be franchised the following season. Of course, this will happen when he eventually signs the franchise tag.
Suggs will be franchised until he signs long term. Or he can take a page out of Asante Samuel's school of business.
Unlike some here, I believe that Merriman is extremely talented.
I still don't want that punk on my team, though. With that behavior, I don't care how good he is.
He's a free agent after this year I believe, how interested do you think BB would be in him? They probably wont resign him since they drafted English at 16 as a future replacement.
I no I no we still have to play this year and should focus on the players on the roster, its a downtime so Im lookin ahead...
Merriman has the potential to be one great HOF LB when all is said and done,I doubt the Chargers let him go,even if Norm is coach
