Expectations for Cassel against the Jets

These are MY expectations for Cassel.

1) Play within yourself.
2) Limit your mistakes. I'd rather you take a sack then try and force the ball and throw an interception
3) If you make a mistake, forget about it and don't make it again.

This is Cassel's first start so anything more, I feel, would be putting unfair expectations on him.

Reasonable advice. As BB I would add...
4) If you see a clear run opportunity take it without hesitation, BUT as the starting QB, you're now responsible for sliding to the ground early to avoid a hit. Run on instinct, slide on thought.

5) The Jets are evil, if you beat them we'll give you a night with Gissell when Tom's recovering under anesthesia. Tom will never know untill he reads my memoirs.

my expectations .....

if he throws into tight coverage like he did sometimes last week or he
keeps staring down his receivers he will get picked ... and more than once.
He got lucky last week but as teams begin to prepare for him with much more
film study ... he will face a lot tougher competition.
I really really hope I am wrong ... and will be happy as anything if I am
.. but that right now is my expectation of Matt Cassel next week.
