Re: Brady loses for now, good luck the rest of the way.....
Its amazing how people say that the Patriots had ample time and money to sign Branch and Givens are putting ALL the onus on the Patriots. You ever stop to think that the Other side of the equation (Branch and Givens) didn't want to re-sign with the Patriots? To my knowledge, Branch turned down 3 contract extension offers. Given turned down 2. Both players were offered deals that were above average offers for players who had shown glimpses of greatness but a lack of consistency.
I'd rather have the Patriots pay money for under-appreciated middle talent than over-pay for inconsisten players with delusions of granduer.

I'm just as excited as anybody else about Chad Jackson but having lost both Branch AND Givens when we had ample time/money to resign either or both... it makes me wanna trade my kool-aid for a shot of Cuervo. Yeah, it would have cost a little more than we wanted to pay but having a guy in perfect tune with your QB is tough to put a price on when you're facing a big 3rd and 6.
On the flip side, I'm giddy about having another #1 pick next year and the possibile trade packages we might put together before week 6. Best just look at my kool-aid as half full...
