Manning will always keep his team in contention? Just like he did in 1998 and 2001.
Seriously? You are going back 12 years to discredit the last decade of success?

Brady. Great QB play is always more likely to carry a team than great coaching.
If Bill left today I'm fairly certain we could be competitive for the next 5 years with Tom, as long as the next coach isn't completely clueless. If Brady leaves today a mediocre quarterback isn't leading this team to great heights.

It's more Brady than Belichick.
Belichick without Brady: 51-62, 1 playoff win, 0 super bowls
Belichick with Brady: 104-32, 14 playoff wins, 3 super bowls
Matt Cassel is doing this year with the Chiefs what he did in 2008 with the Patriots, ie, being competitive against a creampuff schedule. I wouldn't, however, say Todd Haley is as good coach as Bill Belichick.
this argument is meaningless unless you can provide stats including record of brady w/o BB....which you cannot

BB had Drew and he didn't do it, he then had Brady and he has been doing it ever since.
Cassel did a great job in 2008 but I'd give a lot of that credit to Josh McD. Just look at Orton in Denver right now.
We hear all the time opinions on whether you'd choose Brady or Manning if you were to start a new NFL franchise. For most of us on this board, the answer is Brady by a wide margin. However, I'm curious to know whether the fans here would choose Tom Brady in his prime as our QB or Bill Belichick as our head coach for the next ten years if one could only have one of these valued assets. I'd go Belichick because I believe he will find a way to win regardless of the talent and overtime will build a winner.
except under that scenario BB would not be as happy since he came out and said already that he wants no other QB but Brady.

I'm discrediting the ludicrous notion that Manning, and Manning alone, is responsible for the success of the Colts. If he was, the Colts would never have had a losing season with Manning.
Now Brady, he has never had a losing season.
For the record, I am a Patriots fan, but hate seeing blatant homerism toward the team and its players. The Patriots are simply the best franchise in the NFL. The Colts just can't compete in terms of building the team up. Many say Peyton will be the greatest quarterback in NFL history when he retires. Peyton can only do so much, he doesn't play on defense or special teams. Like I said in another post, give him those Patriots defenses and he wins a few superbowls too.
The last 3-4 years he has had great defenses tom.
