I am currently in Seattle on business. So many long faces out here in this great American city in the Pacific Northwest. Seahawk fans just do not have a "tradition of excellence" like we have been blessed with since 2001, and so they are nervous, even with their free agency acquisitions (most notably Jimmy Graham). Reminds me that I really do not care who we lost in free agency this year. I am grateful that I am a fan whose posterior used to sit on cold aluminum benches, hoping that gravity would exact enough influence every time I visited the men's room, watching gritty Patriots teams lose many games under thunderously awful ownership. But that has all changed: for the past decade and a half our beloved team has been the class of not only the NFL, but of worldwide sports in general! We have the best owner, the best head coach, the best director of player personnel, the best assistant coaches, and the best quarterback.
Every time my friends lament what has been going on in free agency following the epic victory in Super Bowl XLIX, my response is simply this: "We still have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, right?" We are blessed, so everyone, just calm down! There is a plan. There is always a plan. Our New England Patriots are both smaaahht and beautiful. We may not win the Super Bowl every year, but we are always in the conversation. ALWAYS. So, my friends, my advice is to march forward in full confidence that the 2015 NFL season will provide many opportunities for TB12 and Company to dominate once again. Being a New England Patriots fan the better part of the past two decades is like being a Yankees fan during the 1920s and 1930s. Watching Thomas Edward Patrick Brady under center or in the gun is like watching Babe Ruth in his prime with his favorite Louisville Slugger. It's all good. Onward Patriots, to 2015 (and beyond!)...
