I don't think Belichick has ever submitted a bid for any supplemental draft prospects. I am not expecting him to now. But if I was a betting man, I would have already lost my house and car betting on what Belichick will do on things draft related.

Gordon is a risk. He played very well as a sophomore in 2010, but missed all of last season because of a suspension due to a drug arrest. I don't know if he is worth a pick especially if the rumors are true that the Redskins are prepared to spend as high as a third rounder on him.

I don't think so either--particularly since they didn't trade a lot of picks into next draft.

Just when you think you have BB figured out...Might as well get a locker ready for Gordon.

I think it is a bit of a fallacy to believe that by taking a player in the Supplemental Draft teams are getting him a year ahead of time. Sure, the team own's that player's rights for the current season. But the 2011 season showed the value of rookie minicamp, OTAs, minicamp, and having 3+ months to get up to speed. Even guys who graduate in June and who can't participate in early activities are at a disadvantage (see: Taylor Price), much less those who are drafted only a few weeks before training camp is to start. So much of the time you pay for a player who isn't really going to contribute until the following year at the earliest. I can't remember the last time a Supplemental Draft prospect contributed significantly as a rookie.

I don't anticipate the Pats adding anyone because none of them are a RDE in a 3-4..

I don't think the Patriots have the picks to play with in the supplemental draft.

They are missing a fifth and sixth in 2013.

If they use their seventh, then Belichick is without any of the Day Three picks he loves on the draft weekend. Instead, look for the Patriots to try to trade someone in camp to regain some 2013 Draft flexibility.

Now the spin is if Gordon would be a top 10 pick if he stayed and played in Utah. He might have been but there are plenty of players who were supposed to be top 10 picks the following year who went far lower when they were finally drafted. I mean the Pats drafted a guy in the seventh round this year who was projected to be a first round pick by some prior to the Senior Bowl.

God's Wrath, had the Browns offered #37 for the rights of Ryan Mallet ,he's traded.
You don't blow first round picks on unproven senior citizens.

You don't blow them on 3rd round players, either.

Given that you were talking about a trade for Mallett, I thought it would be obvious.

When Patriots drafted Mallet in the third round, they made a significant investment. You don't accept anything less than a second rounder.Simple ROE.Just like Houston won't accept anythig less than a third rounder for T.J.Yates who was drafted in the fifth round.I think that Browns drafted for need @22 and didn't have a plan B or C in place. It is my opion that they should've drafted David DeCastro first and use#37 on Qb position( trade with NE being one of the options in consideration ).

    #11 Jersey

Why is it so wrong for the Browns to draft Weeden? What has Mallet done to prove he would be the better choice at #37?
