Manning To Retire Per Schefter

Man, I'm kinda bummed he got to be dragged to a SB win before he retired. He didn't deserve to go out on such a high note. Should've gone out on yet another one and done.

Goodell: NFL “forever grateful” for Peyton Manning’s contributions
“Peyton Manning’s extraordinary career was driven by his talent, an incredible work ethic, and an unwavering desire to be the best and ended so perfectly for him with a Super Bowl victory,” Goodell said. “Peyton’s competitive fire and love of the game made him a legendary player who thrilled fans for a generation. He has served as a great representative of the NFL both on the field and in his community. We are forever grateful for Peyton’s unmatched contributions to the game and know that his success will continue in the next phase of his life.”

I am so done with this league. Maybe even before Tom hangs them up.

Not to play Devils advocate, since I despise Goodell like everyone else, but if Brady retired tomorrow, I'm sure he'd copy and paste the exact same thing.

He's a phony, even going as far to say that Brady is a "great young man", but he would never bad mouth him in the media.

But the defamation and attempted destruction of Brady's legacy through lawyers is a whole other story though...

What if Peyton never had that injury five years ago?

He would probably be a one-time SB winner and the Colts would definitely not have a future....Luck would be somewhere else.

Oh boy he's gonna go all Favre on this speech..

That **** eating grin on Polian's face is nasuiating....

He's always nauseating. I'll give Mannibg credit, he piggy backed a lot of people into becoming relevant. Polian wouldn't be worth **** if it weren't for Peyton with his lousy defenses he built for the Colts.

Peyton on Pats fans "I'll even miss you Patriot fans. And you should miss me too, since you got a lot of wins against me."

Heheh alright that was the one time I smiled.. ;)

peyton says he'll miss the handshakes with tom brady

that was sweet

I can't believe someone brought up the allegations lol

Wow I thought it was just my TV.

Thats disgusting.
Well I'm not sure if that helps him or not. Probably would've been better had he been able to clearly state his personal defense on the subject.

Yeah that just makes it worse, now it's a bigger deal then him just addressing it like he was.

The question was asked, he was answering and they took the cowards way to defend Manning but fudging with the telecast.

Stupid ESPN, does a stupid ESPN thing.

Not to defend Polian as I think he's a cretin, but he was the GM of the 90's Bills teams (yes we all know they didn't win a SB) but they were one hell of a team...
