Our offense would be damn near unbeatable.
Now about that defense oh yeah Big Vince, Red Bryant, CJ Mosley, Are all out there I'd like to offer Damon Harrison a sizeable contract we know the Jets could not match and double dip on d tackle.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

We have enough cap as well as players who would restructure to do it for the team.
I can't see Bush getting more than 3 Million and Harvin might sign for under 5.
Big Vince 2.5 potential contract for Harrison in the 4 range.

Im torn on Harvin. One end, he's a knucklehead and a trouble maker not to mention always injured, but with that, the guy has got some serious skill, and he can be a matchup nightmare on this offense, similar to what Hernandez was..

Harvin would be better than Vereen with his speed.

Special teams would upgrade too with him returning kick offs.

Even our lousy long snapper, Danny Aiken, wants to test the market.

They will sign either/or- not both.

VW for $2.5m inc. incentives might be about right. Don't know if VW will consider that steep of a discount since he reportedly has 3 2/$10m deals on the table.

Damon Harrison is very intriguing. He is a mammoth of a man but DT/NT is pretty much a 1st down or down and < 4yds player in this defense. He'll attract double teams but won't get a lot of pressure on the passer. Like Cedric Thornton in Philly -who is also young, he'd provide cost and position certainly moving forward. Like Thornton, unless they can negotiate a 2nd round pick for a run-stopper is something they need to think about as a press-coverage CB might be a little higher on the priority now than it was 3 days ago.

However.....the likelihood of the Pats/Jets making a trade is up there with me being the next GM of the Pats. :p

@FieldYates: On a 1-year, prove-it type deal, RB Stevan Ridley and the Cowboys could be a very good match. Talented back, can handle workhorse role.

Which is why NE already signed Tyler Ott (again).

Losing Ridley would hurt worse than Vereen in my opinion. The fumble issue is massively overplayed, he's our most consistent RB

The trouble with this speculation is that I don't read anywhere that these players are making
visits to the Patriots. Caserio and Belichick are at pro days at various college campuses.

Ridley to boys makes sense a lot of sense.
He can maybe get 3 mill a year 2 year kind of deal?
I think BB loves Blount.

Unfortunately, Tyler's claim to fame is missing a block in a preseason game and getting a punt blocked.
I do think that they will add another long snapper or two at draft time.

I remember it. Aiken did have a tough year but settled down for the stretch run. Ott was resigned during the season when Aiken was injured against DET but never played. They used Nink at LS instead.

Belichick only has to get on the phone to make things happen.
Lombardi will be there he seems to be taking care of a good amount of contracts.
I know pro days are incredibly important but if your trying to land a free agent.
You have Rex who is talking the guy up and going full court press then you have BB like eh just have him visit Patriots place and the hall.
Then I will talk to him on the phone.
Something like this.
Percy- Mr Belichick its a honor sir.
BB- Yeah OK Harvin first thing you need to do is go take a shower and get that Jet stench off of you. Once you do that you will find a fair incentive based contract on the dresser which you will sign.

Percy- What are you offering me Bill.
BB- Listen I don't have time for a squabble I'm still pissed off that you didn't fall to us in the draft.
But let's not talk about that.
Percy- Sir I have no control over the draft no player does.
BB- Welcome to the Patriots do your job follow Edelman around town he will tell you what we expect.
PERCY- Aww come on man you haven't even met me in person or ironed out contract details.
BB- Harvin I can't put you on the field if you don't know what to do now I'm scouting your eventual replacement again welcome to the Pats.
Percy- This is crazy
BB- Dial tone

Few minutes later Percy Harvin agrees to join the Patriots contract details not yet available.

The Pats have enough big backs. The need a pass catching 3rd down back if White is not adequate.

Never thought Ridley would be back. He is going to get an one year prove it deal no matter where he goes and is going to want to go to a place that will make him a feature back. He won't get that here.
