guys, can we stick to football? gisele and katherine webb are too good for 100% of the guys on this board, so a discussion about them is pointless.
Seriously? You need to get some perspective.

I don't know if he sees the field as well as Brady and his decision making isn't the greatest.

When it comes to QB play, decision making and seeing the field are very important in my book. It's why I would not take Manziel before the fourth round if I were a GM.
.

I don't understand this thinking. If you feel he lacks the most important qualities in a QB why draft him at all? He either is going to make it or not. Drafting a guy who isn't going to make it is a mistake in any round.

with that said, AJ McCarron would be interesting. He is a winner at every level - kind of like Brady was. He does not possess great arm strenght but is very intelligent. Remind you of anyone? :D

Yeah, the QB who preceded him at Alabama, Greg McElroy.

It's really going to suck when he refers to New England as the "Alabama of Pro Football" and has to play in Cleveland.

FWIW, here are the stat lines for comparison.

McElroy's Sr year:
222 of 313, 70.9% comp%, 2987 yards, 9.5 Y/Att, 10.1 Adj. Y/Att 20 TDs 5 Ints, 169 QB Rating.

McCarron's Sr year:

226 of 336, 67.3% comp%, 3063 yards, 9.1 Y/Att, 9.8 Adj. Y/Att 28 TDs 7 Ints, 167.2 QB Rating.

The stats are very similar.

Speak for yourself, bro

I am all aboard the Manziel bandwagon. Hope he some how drops.

He'd never be drafted by New England. He's another diva like Geno Smith. He simply wouldn't be able to handle the team-first ideal on & off the field.

Drops to what? The #10-#13 range?

Wherever he'd possibly drop to won't have any bearing whatsoever on the NE Patriots and their draft plans.

He's a longshot to even make camp, but Joe Clancy of Merrimack is a terrific QB. Brady-like in his ability to hit passes in the middle of the field and his accuracy on back shoulder throws. Obviously the strength of schedule isn't there but he had over 4,000 yards passing in his senior year, 65% completion percentage, 48-10 TD/Int and 375 yards per game. At least one NFL team is supposedly showing a fair amount of interest according to one report.

One of my favourite longshot prospects.

I don't think any of the QB's in this draft are franchise players so I wouldn't be looking for an heir apparent to Brady. Instead I would be looking for a backup QB with the potential to be a developmental asset. Some of the guys that are of interest to me are:

Zach Mettenberger- LSU- Arguably has the best arm talent in this draft. Very similar to Ryan Mallett and could be a great replacement for him.

Tajh Boyd- Clemson- Not the typical Patriots QB but I'm starting to come around on the idea of having mobile QB as a backup. Boyd is a very intriguing guy for me in the mid rounds.

Aaron Murray- Georgia- Tough, experienced fighter out of the SEC. He might not have the highest ceiling (average NFL starter) but he has a decent floor (solid backup QB).

It will soon be the age of Mobile QBs and I want this team to be ahead of that curb not behind.

Pretty much. I think SB39 nailed it exactly. He can come in and be serviceable, but I wouldn't bet a franchise on him.

lmao-most ironic post ever.

I would take McCarron in a minute if he is still there in third, problem is that he won't be.

Yeah, the QB who preceded him at Alabama, Greg McElroy.

Say what you want about McElroy but he actually beat out a former first rounder when Sanchez went down, and he at least may still be a viable back up for NFL teams.

Dude, if you actually think that McElroy "beat out" anyone when Sanchez went down, then you really aren't that bright. Such a belief seriously calls your judgment into question.

McElroy retired...
