The Pats will smack'em around again. Jets are all talk. I wonder where they get that from.

RT @TheJetsStream: #Jets Rex Ryan on being a better coach than #Patriots Bill Belichick: "I'm not there yet. But I'm going to be Sunday." #nfl

RT @TheJetsStream: Rex Ryan on taking a dig at #Patriots Tom Brady: "He took a shot at me by his antics on the field.... Brady being Brady." #nfl #jets

You are making this stuff up I hope

@BobGlauber: Rex on Brady attending "Lombardi" on Broadway while Jets played Colts: "Peyton Manning would have been watching our game."

Rex on 45-3 loss: "I told Belichick after the game, 'We'll see you in Round 3.'" Belichick's reaction? "He just looked at me." #nyj

This is a rerun. Is Rex running out of material? He needs new writers ...

OK, now he's gone too far...

TheJetsStream Rex Ryan on NY-Boston rivalry: "Let's face it: New York's New York. Everybody wants to beat the best." #nfl #jets #patriots

It was funny but they had Jason Taylor on the set of NFLN last night and he was joking about his coach writing checks his players had to keep trying to cash. And while he was smiling it was that kind of smile that let you know at least he wished he'd give it a rest...

That's because Bill was thinking about the Bears at that point.

Rex Ryan cant help himself or is he playing mind games?

iam wondering with all the chit chat he does even after a loss if he is really this unplanned when speaking or he is doing purposefully. he comments on brady seem to be pre planned to play mind games with him it seems. Doesnt seem off hand.Same with his comments that if "belichick slips up this week,we will beat him".
To be frank, the first week last yr , the pats did fall into the trap when they went to the meadowlands when rex left voice messages at season tkt holders and hyped up the game. The pats went with that clipboard approach of going no huddle all the way -the first time they ever tried it and it felt he had succeeded.I wonder he is trying to do the same tactic or rex being rex. Thoughts?

Re: Rex Ryan cant help himself or is he playing mind games?

Sometimes i think he is trying a stratagey that some fighters use. Anger your opponent so he loses his cool and knock them off their game. Ali was great at it If thats what hes trying to do i don't think BB and TB are going to fall for it.

Rex has only read one book in his life.

THE FOOT BOOK by Dr. Seuss. He read that, and made it his bible. That was enough, no more book needed to be read.

This one was just a misunderstanding. Rex thought someone had asked him if he was physically at Gillete Stadium today.

There's no sense getting riled up over the comments. At this point, the guy clearly has a strategy. He's being deliberately provocative. This is not Rex "speaking his mind." This is a guy who has gone all in with his strategy of trying to be antagonistic in the press and trying to tweak the Patriots, Brady and Belichick in an attempt to get under their skin.

Will it work? History indicates no. Then again, they lost their last game to the Patriots 45-3, so what does he have to lose? Like it or not, Ryan does seem to have his finger on the pulse of what works with and for his team. He's 3-1 in the playoffs in one plus seasons, all on the road. And he's also largely teflon -- tripgate, footgate, it just makes him stronger. I thought his bluster during las year's playoffs had to be counterproductive, but it wasn't. He's clearly decided that trying to get his guys to play up to the level he sets for them outweighs any perception that it will fire up the other team.

He's doing it deliberately. Getting worked up about is like getting worked up about who wins or loses in pro wrestling. You're being put on. Getting too emotionally tied up in what Rex says is a losing game. It's the mental equivalent of wrestling with a pig -- the pig loves it and you get filthy. If the Jets win on Sunday, it will make you even more miserable. If the Patriots win, it's not going to change Ryan one bit or shut him up next time. If anything, it will just make him more outrageous.

Re: Rex Ryan cant help himself or is he playing mind games?

I posted in the other thread, but there's little doubt to me that he's doing it deliberately. Whether to try to mess with our team or pump up his own guys, he's the equivalent of the WWF. I think it's his personality to do this stuff in the first place, but he plainly milks it to try to get an advantage.

While it's more obnoxious by a long shot than Belichick's approach, both are, I believe, equally calculated.

Good ole Rex. If he can't put his wife's foot in his mouth, he simply puts his own.

C'mon, it is so transparent. I'm sure Brady can't help but laugh at reading this stuff at this point.

Just childish....
