OT: Jets could be dangerous in playoffs

if the jets get a 10-13 pt lead they could win a lot of games with that defense.but their D has had a tedency to give up game winning/tying scores just like the ravens were famous for under rex ryan but never noted for it in the media.

You know what's really dangerous in the playoffs? Gonnoreah.

Anything can happen, but let's not read too much into this. The Jets wouldn't even be in the playoffs if both teams they faced the last two weeks laid down for them.

Exactly right! The Jets know they are fortunate to be in this position which is what makes me think they can be dangerous in the playoffs. They are playing with house money with absolutely no (public) expectations and with nothing to lose! Shrex will have them loose, confident and ready to play. That makes them "dangerous".

It doesn't matter. The Colts and the Bengals both laid down and now both can be knocked out by the Jets in their perfect world.

The funny thing about playoffs is every game is 50/50.

the jets could be real dangerous providing they keep playing teams who don't care about the result

think colts/denver from 2004

The Jets have one of the best defenses I have seen for the past few years ....and that is WITHOUT Jenkins in the mix.

Reminds me of the 2000 Ravens,so yes the Jets look pretty good going into the playoffs.
Ya agreed, the Jets could be dangerous. When I think about it I doubt the Bolts match up all that well against them, really... Yea, I think the Bolts beat them and anybody else at home but the Jets D is pretty good.

Lots of people everywhere talking about how there really isn't a dominant D this season. That may be true but when you look at the Jets defensive numbers for the season they're really not shabby. They're in the same ballpark as the 2000 Ravens and 2002 Bucs. They led the league in PA and total yards. Seems clear to me that the Jets D has played the best D in the league overall this season. I think that's the only reason why they got in the postseason.

We all know how important D is particularly in a cold weather game. I think the harsher the weather is the bigger advantage a good defensive team gains.

I like the Jets tomorrow primarily because I don't have a lot of faith in the Bengals offense. I'd be pretty surprised to see the Bengals own the Jets, that's for sure.
