Just heard on the WFAN patriots sign Fred Taylor. Looks like a good signing

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Agreed, as long as it isn't too expensive, this is a great signing. LoMo, Faulk, Morris, and Taylor. Wow.

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Oh, and don't let me forget "The Firm".

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

See? THIS is why I go on patsfans: I heard it here first.

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Hooray! I really like this move.

beat me to it, heard it on the NFL network. Did not hear terms of the deal. Either way, I like it alot. If he stays healthy, we will have a great ground game next season. Taylor seems to me to be the type of person who will play like he wants to prove something.

Look at this way, we replaced Jordon with Taylor. Anyway you look at it, its an improvement. And I liked Jordon.

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Solid Patriot type guy...

This is a great Signing Ala Corey Dillion, Corey Dillion could have been comprade the same, semi washed up perviously great RB.

Taylor has a chance to win a ring, and will go all out for 2 years.

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Saw this on nfl.com just a few minutes ago not overly impressed RB was not an area of need IMO. If it was for cheap I guess its a replacement for Jordan and we all know Maroney is bound to get hurt next year.../shrug

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

I think it's a great signing. Welcome to NE, Fred! :D:D

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

This signing is superior to the Corey Dillon signing. With Dillon you got a great power back but very little ability to make catches. Putting Taylor in the backfield doesn't scream running play every play. This should be a good fit.

Link please?

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Great signing as with morris ,faulk and maroney you needed another RB . Even if maroney gives you 10-11 games the rest can pick it up.

atleast , we can spend a pick on a RB next draft removing that from a position of need for this.I liked the way jordan ran but suspect in blocking and got injured.Bigger RB rundown even faster and injury prone.

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

Sweet. He immediately becomes our best RB since the 2004 Dillon. Although his YPC were down last year, in addition to their OL being a mess they really screwed with him by giving him 10 carries or less in half the games. Although Jones-Drew's average was 0.3 higher, his average went down quite a bit last year too (4.6 to 4.2) so last year's stats are tough to gauge reality.

It's being reported by WEEI now.

Re: Fred Taylor Signed

good signing, but someone mentioned that this is better than the dillon signing which was actually a trade......a bit of a stretch, no?
