Re: If Jackson does not come on in

what none of you spoken is this guy has taken a roster spot for 2 yrs and now going to in the thrid.

how many want to keep in the 53 and see if he develops when we can actually carry one of those multiple position playing player or s UDFA gutton or redd.

What I want is to see if C Jackson can learn the position this full healthy camp and translate his size and speed into football productivity. Flexible position players aren't much use if they're sub-par at each position. I'm not knocking those guys; we just don't know yet nor does BB. That's why training camp is so important for players on the bubble.

Re: If Jackson does not come on in

I would like to see Jackson out there with Brady throwing to him. The way Cassel is playing I dont think you can judge Jackson 100% on what we're seeing from him.

brady hasnt been happy with jackson at practice as well as per reiss

Re: If Jackson does not come on in

Jackson looked lost on the field! The excuse makers will never stop.....part of being a good pro, is the ability to stay healthy - dedicate yourself to the playbook, and make things happen on the field. Some guys can - some guys cant! Jackson has been a total waste of space up until this point, and unless he turns it around fast, he is a BUST!! Even when he was taking back kicks last year, he didn't look impressive. Where was all the playmaking ability?

Jackson was taken pretty high in the draft, and he has been getting a lot of negative press since he came to the pats.....from Brady in practice, to screwing up on the field, rumors of a poor attitude and now barking back at qb's.....the list goes on and on. When have you heard that Jackson looked good, or that he was putting in extra time to learn the playbook? With all the time Jackson spent injured, I would think he would know the playbook inside and out by now. The kid gets PAYED to play football for a living. Honestly, how can this guy step on to the field, and run the wrong routes? What did he do while he was on the shelf, twiddle his thumbs?

The ONLY reason people root for Jackson, is because he is big and ripped..... and he looks the part. Plain and simple, people think Jacksons physique = big time playmaker. I saw some posters comparing him to T.O - ( yeah right!). To bad he cant play in the NFL. I'm in the put up or shut up camp. Either Jackson shows us something, or he should be cut.

I know why people love Jackson

His combine stats, and his physique. When the kid walks on to the field, people see a ripped, athletic, specimen. I wish people could admit that aside from his combine stats, the reason they think he is going to be a great player, is because he is a physical freak. What has he done that would lead you to believe that he is going to be a game breaker? Has he shown durability or heart? Yes, he has great genetics for lean muscle mass, but does he have the mental make up to put his gifts to use? I say no, and I think he has shown that he is immature.

Mayo showed us that raw talent......he showed us that he has "it". Jackson has never done that, and from I have seen, it looks like he never will. I hope that I am wrong, but aside from a steller physique, Jackson has not NOTHING to warrent any praise.

Jackson has been out of college for two years and is still only 23 years old. In that time, he's played only 14 games, and this is his first training camp. In other words, Chad Jackson has had less football experience over the past 2 seasons than pretty much anyone out on that field. He may know the playbook inside and out, and we wouldn't know it. He has to translate book knowledge to the field, he never had a rookie season and training camp to acclimate, and he's coming off of a devastating knee injury.

Whether he pans out or not, perhaps the kid should actually be given a real chance before those people who are supposed to be fans start with the 'bust' crap....

Just a crazy notion, I know.

Jackson flashed several times as a rookie. I know we're all getting impatient but there's no need to exaggerate to make your point, he has shown some positives.

Jackson has played only 14 games because he is always hurt.... Thats a durability issue. Some guys cannot stay on the field. Have we not heard that Brady was not happy with Jackson in practice? How about reports of his poor attitude, and lack of drive? We saw him return kicks last year, he did nothing special....and now he shows up after a full camp, and looks like crap on the field. Barking back at his QB, and running the wrong routes. Jackson has been getting chances for the last three years - its time to put up or shut up. A kid with his ability, and his physique, should show flashes of greatness.

Bill Polian disagrees with you, and he knows a bit more about the game than you do. However, even for the clueless, 3 tds in 13 catches with just limited time as a rookie should be enough to get you off the kid's back.

What flashes? Making a few nice catches, and scoring a few td's? I would think a wr taken just after the first round would do something more than that. When I saw him return kicks last year, he didn't look like he had that game breaking ability. He looked like an average NFL player. I know he tore his ACL, but he was dinged up from the get go.

So your saying that since I don't think Jackson is a good NFL player I dont know anything. I'm not the only one who feels this way, and several reports from pats land confirm some of my claims.

Sorry, Jackson is going to be a great NFL player. By 2012 he will be awesome. Also, are you really going to cite Bill Polian? I would bet money that you have ripped him for some of his opinions. Like how we mugged his wr's in the AFC championship game a few years back. I'm glad that chad has some nice plays two years ago, thats nice.

Same thing with that Leaf guy!!!!!! Of the charts! Physical speciman, with all the tools! Much better pick than Manning. Who wants the tall goofy guy, when you can have the big strong qb!

Steve Smith caught 10 passes as a rookie. Plaxico Burress caught 22.

I don't know how Jackson is going to be, an neither do you. Frankly, because he was a Florida receiver, my first inclination was to expect him to fall short of expectations. To date, he's certainly not exceeding them.

However, Polian knows personnel, and you don't. In an interview posted on this board this weekend, he is asked if 3 years is enough time for an evaluation. Go look at his answer.

Captain Obvious? Ding ding ding!!!! Winner winner chicken dinner.

CJ is taking on Josh Mcdaniels proportions two years ago. or even Deion Branch. He better not cost us the SB

Polian also said that the patriots wr's mugged his colts out of a sb.....so, are you only going to cite him when his opinion suits your argument? Are you saying that know - it - all Polian was correct with his claims in regards to our db's? How long should we wait for Jackson? Five years, six?

Btw, who was that player that left the colts last year? Got a bunch of money for doing pretty much nothing......Polian is not always correct.

The Patriots DID mug the Colts. Are you going to seriously try to argue that they didn't? They used the rules, as enforced, to their advantage, just as they did against the Rams.

As for Polian not always being correct, that's just a foolish argument. Nobody's perfect, but Polian's far better than most of the men getting paid to make those calls.

So, I can't have an opinion that says that Jackson will not be a good player? Also, what about Dwayne Bowe catching 70 passes last year?

Your argument is weak. The pats have picked guys that have not worked out.... by your logic, when people called Bethal Johnson a bust, they where wrong, since Pioli and Beli drafted him, and they know more than us.

Fact is, from time to time, guys like us are correct.
