Maybe he didn't see the casino tape of him and his 3 buddies attacking Levi Jones. Goodell didn't even see the tape before he took away three games from Porter and I'll go as far as to say that he needed a bigger penalty. You don't grab your buddies and beat down another man. Pittsburgh Steelers LB Joey Porter was fine $10,000 by the NFL for using a homosexual slur against Cleveland Brown TE Kellen Winslow Jr. Here's what Porter had to say about the incident (taken from an ESPN.com report):

"I guess how we use that word freely, me growing up using it, I didn't think nothing of it like that," Porter said. "Like I said, I apologize to anybody I offended on it. I really didn't mean to offend nobody but Kellen Winslow. Pretty much, that's it about that."

As much as I hate the guy and what he just said, I have to admit that I enjoyed this:

Before Pittsburgh's 2005 divisional playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts, Porter commented:
"They don't want to just sit there, line up and play football. They want to try to catch you off guard. They don't want to play smash-mouth football, they want to trick you with candy and bring you into their car and lock all the doors. ...They want to catch you substituting. Know what I mean? After the Indianapolis game, Porter claimed that the referees had unfairly called an interception by Troy Polamalu an incompletion because they favored the Colts, stating:

-They cheated. There should be an asterisk to their success.
-Marion Jones got caught and had to give his medals back, why shouldn’t the Pats?
-If it wasn’t' that bad, why was evidence destroyed? It must have been real bad.
-Everyone who has lost a big game to the Pats, feels bitter over their cheating.
-If Tom Brady wasn't getting helped by it, then why would you do it?
-People wonder why they went from 0 to 60 overnight.

Joey Porter is new and exciting.

Well, this is just the type of things we're going to have to listen to for as long as we're still in the era of Bill Belichick. Of course I'm on record as remaining to support the players but no longer a coach who ruined the franchise I've built my life around. Not trying to sound dramatic but this is all BB's fault and we're on the defense for the rest of our lives. Very frustrating.
