Peyton Being A Douche

ha

haha

hahahah ha.

Btw, please post examples of Veritek, Lowell and co talking about their "disgust" for Manny (as a teammate). Links and Video please.

Follow the team or read the newspaper once in a while. You act like this is a secret. It's not.

When Manny quit on the team two years ago, Schilling, Lowell and Varitek weren't exactly silent about their displeasure.

Because having a leader on a football team means doing everything they say and never questioning them at all.

Questioning? That's what you saw? I saw a guy ordering him to sit down.

This thread is stupid and makes Pat fans look like complete homers!

Brady does this! Maybe even more than Manning. Brady has pointed out his guys on the field including Welker in the Superbowl. Brady is human and gets fustrated and at times has taken out his fustrations on this teammates whether they deserve it or not!

End of Story....

With that, Tom is the most respected most loved guy on the team according to people who used to be Patriots including Willie McGuinnest or even Charlie Weiss. So much so that his Center Koppen recently had Tom has his Best Man at his wedding a few weeks back. Tearing into Manning for being a leader is just dumb and really makes me feel like I am suddenly posting on the freaking IndyStar lame board.

Man, are people watching the same video? You think Light would tell Brady to sit his arse down like that? Get real.

when Brady yells he uses it to motivate his team and get them pumped. He doesn't try and "put them in their place" and belittle them.

Peyton was treating Saturday like dogcrap and had the "im better and more important than you b/c im a QB".

That is why they only won 1 Superbowl.

Unbelievable that some of you are comparing this crap to Brady.

This is one of the great reasons as to why this Colts team has only won 1 Superbowl, even though the rules have been changed in their favor and the Refs give them every call in every big playoff game.

I agree that I don't think our line would react that way.

He does it differently. Brady doesn't try to imbarres his team mates in front of each other. He almost always say "WE" need to play better not "YOU" screwed up.

Amen to that. If this gets one million views, it won't matter anyway. The world, for some reason, is not sick of the Colts yet despite the fact that they've been every bit as successful as we have since '01.

I love Tarik Glenn's response:

"Go sit down."

Peyton yells some more.

"Go sit down."

Regards,
Chris

I cannot fathom Brady acting like that to his teammates during a game.

We are so lucky.

TB went nuts on WRs 2 years ago in a loss in Miami. Means nada. What's funny about this is the lineman that sat Manning's ass down. LOL.

As I've already mentioned, I don't mean to say that Brady never yells at teammates. I mean that I've never seen him do it in such a condescending manner as in that video.

Yeah I don't understand how the center can change the play unless I'm just misunderstanding the gibberish coming out of Manning's mouth. Either way I thought the video was funny and I couldn't care less if he was respected or not on his own team. Hopefully it'll blow up in his face one day.

Saturday makes the line blocking calls as Peyton calls the plays or audibles at the line. If Saturday calls for run blocking schemes on passing plays, Peyton is going to get drilled.

Like Peyton or hate him, situations like this happen with every quarterback. If you don't think Brady has shouted at anyone, you need to back away from the Alter of Tom. It's just as silly to think that none of the Patriots' linemen would stand up to Tom. If none of them would, you guys need to get some guys that got a pair. I think they have them, but saying they respect him too much is laughable.

No its not.... You have to love this board, random internet jockeys claiming they know how Tom's teamates feel about him.Honestly, I hate payton as much as the next guy, but please stop acting like this video makes him a bad guy.

Pretty sure things like this happen to all pro's, and I would highly doubt Brady has never been in the same type of situation. Manning has that competative fire that guys like Brady have. Saturday and Manning are close like brothers, and sometimes brother's take frustrations out on one another. Manning is highly respected by his players, and suggesting otherwise is dumb and homer driven. Anyone who had ever played competative sports at a high level knows that when you put a bunch of alpha males in one place, at one time, and things are not going well, things like that happen.

Hey Lifer, I've watched every patriots QB since the days of Jim Corcoran in 1968, how many have you watched?

You're right, I can't read minds but I'm intellegent enough to know that Peyton throwing his O-linemen under the bus on national television didn't sit to well with them. It also says a lot about his character and/or lack of.

Wait, I'm confused.

I thought the Colts chose Peyton Manning and the Chargers got Ryan Leaf!?!?!?

The QB is the leader. When the OL emasculates him like that, and forces the QB to say things like, "We're cool yo," then that shows they don't have as much respect for him as you imagine. That's the big difference here between Brady and Manning. Glenn outright disrespected Manning. It was obvious. And only a blind homer Colt fan wouldn't be able to see that.

Do you have a link to that video of Brady? I assume you're referring to the one I've seen before NFL Countdown or some other ESPN show where he yells "Are we going to lay down, or are we going to fight?" before spiking a waterbottle or something. I've always wanted to see the raw footage of that.

no, no link. haven't seen it much, but of course Colts fans like to drag it out when comments like this get going. In the end, theyare both very competitive. It's funny to see folks argue about how Tom does it the "right" way, and PM is a douche.

BTW, I assume the game is versus Rams at home, maybe in '05, when Rames jumped out to a 17-0 lead??

HAHA!! I love that, thanks for posting. Nice to see Peyton has some moxey and is willing to speak up and lead and show some emotion! Kinda like Brady having a fit on HIS sideline in '05. Again, great post, thanks.
Peyton lost a lot by letting Tarik Glenn push him away.
I'm not a Manning hater or fan, but I cannot believe he backed down. He should have been in 78's face until 78 shut up an sat down.

I've seen Brady yell at players before. I doubt they yell back.

It's likely the game from 2005. It's the last time the Colts played the Rams and at one point the Rams led 17-0, which would make sense considering the, uh, tension on Indy's sidelines.

I agree. I've seen it as well. And I never seen any of them yell back. I believe that a lot of that come from the coach, example - Peyton's linemen yell at him and Tony probably goes over and gives them a hug - Tom's Linemen yell at him and Belichick will come over and verbally abuse them to the point of them wishing they were never born.

The system of Leadership in the Patriot organization is such that you probably won't see that happen. Tom/Ted B./Jr are at the top of the organizational chart, everyone knows their place. I'm not saying that it would never happen, I'm just saying that the Veteran leaders keep that stuff in check.

I think Manning is a douche, but mostly for sexually assaulting women and throwing his O-line under the bus after a game.

Not for this.

:D

This video is hilarious for a ton of reasons, but Manning getting in his center's face for not running the plays that are called is not really one of them. The fact that Saturday would disrespect Manning in such a way is hilarious. The fact that Manning was still trying to get his word in while Dungy was addressing Saturday is. The fact that Glenn was ordering Manning to go sit down is. And my favorite is Manning's five-year-old-like attempt at saying Saturday was yelling first.

Manning was in the right for trying to make his center play the damn plays, but he looks like a whiny little brat with the way he went about doing it.

And if Brady did the same thing I'd point it out as well, but methinks that's not how he goes about his business.
