You're probably right... but I don't remember seeing anything about him paying for a lawyer to testify for him in federal court.

Walsh wanted to be paid for legal fees if the Pats sued him, not if he testified in Federal Court.

This is a pretty damning article with new information. They are already talking about tapes of the Steelers in 2004 that could've helped the Pats beat the Steelers in the AFCCG that year.

Oh no! Notes that the Steelers games were taped. You mean the Pats did what 31 other teams do every week and taped their opponent?

Either the Pats did nothing or that is poor reporting. Videotaping games is not illegal.

Besides, the Pats admitted that they have been taping from the sidelines from 2000 and Goodell knew about it when they were punished. Big whoop!

Specter will need to come up with far more than this to convince Patrick Leahey to open a Senate investigation since Leahey thinks Specter is a bitter Eagles fan abusing his powers.

I think Specter is just trying to save face with his constituents, many of which think he is wasting taxpayers money with this.

I just heard Specter's press conference. The guy is looney. He constantly called Goodell "Goodall". He said Matt Walsh was the cameraman who allegedly "taped the 2002 Super Bowl". I thought FOX taped that game.

He also revealed his agendas. He talked to Goodell about allowing churches to show games on widescreens without violating copyright infringements which is a bill he is introducing to Congress. He also talked to him about the potential anti-trust violations of the NFL Sunday ticket. Ironically, that is the same NFL Sunday Ticket that Comcast is blocked from getting.

I don't know about anyone else, but the more I hear from Specter the more respect I get for the guy and how he really is just looking out for the average football fan who was cheated and not his own agenda.

How can you argue with illegal taping of the other team possibly being used to win playoff games? If that doesn't make you sick and embarrassed, I don't know what would.

The only good news for the Pats is that Goodell will probably take the heat for all of this.

How can you think anyone actually believes you are a Pats fan? The Pats were caught doing the equivalent of committing agravated jaywalking to steal a line from Tom Curran. They were punished. Move on!

Specter is just using this to push his own political agendas. He admitted as much in his press conference.

Many of us Pats fans believe that Goodell has made the situation look worse and that things need to be explained and people vindicated, or the dirty needs need to be outed and properly punished.

Still a lot to be figured out, but I agree with DR that Goodell will probably be forced out relatively soon.

I've seen some reports that Goodell told Specter the Pats had taped Steelers regular season game and AFCCG a few years back. Also, Goodell said in September that the taping only went back to 2006, but now they are saying it went back to 2002 and 2000. Goodell is looking like a liar right now.

It looks like it's only going to get much, much worse for our Pats.

It's not going to get any worse. If Goodell lied, he can't turn and penalize the Patriots for that. So it doesn't matter how far back it goes if Goodell knew. He already penalized the patriots based upon what he knew.

So it can only get worse if new information that Goodell wasn't aware of comes to light. And I'm not worried about that happening. This thing was done months ago and it shall remain that way.
