Player Signing Patriots sign Malcom Butler

I'm still not ruling out Wade as our Free Safety of the Future... Size, tackling ability/willingness, experience between the hashes...

JJones on the other hand is too brittle for FS... He needs to worry about staying healthy as a Slot CB first...
Wade is a slot CB. Jones on the other hand could be our CB1…like it or not.

Butler will be 2 years older than in 2020 and hasn’t played for a year I except his performance to be in the same ball park as Hightower this year.

A rookie, Butler, Mitchell, Mills, Williams doesn’t inspire confidence in me
You fired Jones, Bryant and Wade?

They should've draft one last year too instead of yet another useless ****ing Safety.
and that CB drafted in the 6th round may or may not be on the 53 this year.

You are REALLY whining about who Bill take a wild shot at in the 6th round?
=====================
I can see why some argue with patriot drafts over the past 10 years. HOWEVER, I suspect that he does better than most (any?) in finding talent in the 6th round, 7th round and in UDFA's.

Happy to see this. I would literally pay Butler just for appreciation of my favorite play in football history.

Good thing I'm not a GM/coach and hopefully BB and Co. didn't sign him for that reason.

He can contribute I suppose but I don't think he's a game changer. It helps he has experience with the Pats.

Are you forgetting Wade? He could be a pleasant surprise.

He has the potential. What really worked against him last year was that he was injured and that he didn't come into the Patriots system until right before the season started. So he never really had the time to adapt to the scheme or get continuity with his teammates. He has the potential of having a Kyle Dugger second year explosion.

I don't know... Bill & Phatt Matt & Little Steven are such b!tchy pricks, I wouldn't put it past them.
While I agree, this signing is telling me that Malcolm was okay with whatever happened in the past.

And you'd think if the coaching staff did something that affected Butler that badly, they wouldn't have the nerve to ask him to come back.

Wade is a jack of all trades. He played quite a bit in slot in college. But he is big, plays physical, and fast enough that could be a shutdown outside corner if developed. No guarantees. Many didn't think he lived up to his potential his last year in college which why he dropped. If he lives up to the potential people thought he could have going into the 2020 season, he could very well be the heir apparent to JC Jackson.

It makes a helluva case for never burning a bridge. AB should take notes

Money repairs a lot of bridges. We'll see if Malcolm has enough left in the tank, he's not a sure bet to make the roster. As for AB taking notes, he'd probably either lose them and blame someone else, forget what they meant or be unable to read his own writing.

Malcom? You kidding me?.....

For the avoidance of confusion I'm merely quoting Tom. (Time 14 mins on video)

Bryan Storks reaction gets me even after a decade.

Compared to others on the depth chart, it is more likely than not that he would indeed be on the 53 this year...

Same can Not be said for your binkie Bedsore, who more likely than not would've been available to be signed as a UDFA anyway.

People love to blame BB for sitting butler. The media loves to push that narrative. If you're going to blame anybody. Blame butler. There's a reason he was benched.

This CB group to be above average will need Butler to play very well and the rookie Cb if we draft one will need to be a stud. When was the last time Bill drafted a good CB? I don’t want Cyrus Jones or Duke Dawson 2.0

He did find butler and JC jackson
