DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay?

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

i think that if moss ends up with a great pro-bowl year like he is having, he will want more money and i think the pats would be willing to pay him a little extra for 2-3 years. Kraft and other will see what moss is like brady...a deadly combo

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

Pats will give Moss a good deal and get him signed. They gave Dillon good money and Antwain Smith. They offered Branch good money.

I think Randy stays. Pats differentiate between key players and replaceable players and Moss is not replaceable at the same level of play by anyone in the league right now.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

when we get another ring it wont be too tough to get him to stay...

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

do you think he would rather win now, that get paied and have a situation like oakland arise again? i know he said he hs enough money....now he just wants to win. I hope he keeps that attitude. man i sure hope they sighn him. Him and brady are unstopable.

I do.
He will be paid quite well here but still give a small discount to get the SBs and HoF stats on his resume.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

I think he'll take a LOT of money, but slightly less than he could command on the open market. I'd be very surprised if he leaves. I think he feels he's found a home, not just in this offense but in this organization and system. It provides the structure and discipline that he clearly craves and excels in, and it provides an opportunity for him to be WHO HE IS and to be the best he can be. And he's got Brady throwing him the ball. I think he stays.

I agree with this prediction. I think he will expect to be paid, but he might take slightly less than the market would pay just to stay here. He's not going to want to go to a stinky team with no QB for tons more $$. Been there, done that, and it's no fun.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

He took the low contract this year because he wanted out so bad from Oakland.
I wouldn't expect the same generosity after this season.
We'll see if they can work out something that's good for both sides.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

also..in the football world he belongs no where till now...looking at past footballers..they seem to like that feeling that they are still part of the fraternity..
as many have said already in this thread...he will retire a pat. as long as he knows when its time to retire..and not drag out his career.
2-3 more years as a pat seems good.

if he has any brains he will not leave a good home. of course vinitraitor left

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

Adam left because of the dome situation..and being on another top club..and I don't think Moss will do that. he's been around teh league..been in teh worst situation..and he must be so happy having a QB that can get him the ball!! I mean..he's going to have a monster year..BUT more importantly, I think he's understanding what team football is AND enjoying it!! And when I see him smiling and having fun..it's as much about the team winning as the TDs...he's never played on a winner..till now..so?? I will go with the optimism and say he stays..he knows a good thing and how HARD that is to find. They will offer a reasonable contract..and he stays!

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

Sign him now to 2 years 20 million incentive based and don't look back!!

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

I think it is impossible to tell if he will stay or not. No one knows his true motives. He may enjoy being on a winner and will take less to stay or he may be doing and saying all the right things and looking for two prizes early in 2008 - a Super Bowl ring and a huge contract.

I think people who think that Moss is definitely buying into this legacy and being part of something special may be disapointed. He will probably have a lot of offers if the Pats don't franchise him and he may decide to go to the highest bidder because the highest bidder will most likely be a legitimate Super Bowl contender. No crappy team is going to try to sign him since they know what happened in Oakland.

Personally, I don't know if the Pats will be willing to pay him what he will want to get. He is probably going to want a long term deal with something like $20 million guaranteed. The question is how much longer does the Patriots feel he can play at a high level and also remain motivated? One year past this year? Two? Three? I think the Pats would love to keep him for another year or two after this year, but I don't know about three or four.

Moss could be drinking the KoolAid, but we thought guys like Lawyer Milloy, Ty Law, and Deion Branch drank it too at one point. It is impossible to know what motivates a player when it comes to contract negotiations and money. Typically you don't know until either a contract is signed or the player goes away one way or another.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

OK I just wanted to say to the person that called Moss a thug. Do you realize that Moss is one of the most charitable guys in the NFL? The guy helps kids in need all the time. He even opened a drink place and donated some of the profit to charity.

I like to think Moss is loving it here. There really arent any great FA next season and we lost a number 1 pick so we will have more money to offer him. Moss can take a smaller contract with the Pats and earn a TON of money on endorsements. Say he wins a SB this year and is the MVP, he can potentially make more money on endorsements than his contract. Signing Moss is well worth it by the way because he is just so much better than everybody else out on the field.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

The players that want to play/stay here with BB and Kraft and Co., are players that value football over the buck. They come to play for BB not because he's a warm and fuzzy guy, but because he puts his players in a position of being the best they can be and to win as a team. IMO Randy has gotten some big contracts/attention and has found that lacking compared to his love of the game and his competitive nature. I'll admit to doubting that he would fit into this locker room, and am truly happy for him that he appears to have done so, so seamlessly. He really looks like he's having the time of his life! I wouldn't be surprised to see him back as our top paid receiver. Somehow I think he would get the concept that spreading the money around makes a more supportive team for all.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

I think it entirely depends on if we win the Superbowl or not. If we do I say he's Gee Oh En GONE. I Call it the Ted Washington Effect. If not, he might come back cuz he wants the ring.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

He definately could have an Asante type year this year for the Pats (meaning playing extra special in an expected sought after FA period next year) and then go back to an average player once he gets big dollars on the open market next year.

I do not think the Pats will have him next year regardless of how great a year he ends up with..Just MHO

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

I'd watch the "thugs" comments.........

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves here--let's take it slow. If he has a monster year and is healthy, he'll want to get paid, and the Pats will see if they can work whatever that payment will be into their system. If not, he'll move on. If I had to guess, he'll be here next year. But it's premature to speculate.

I haven't been a troll, asshat.

His arrest record is still longer than his charity record. You guys are being homers. But that's cool. Some people still think Chris Henry can turn his life around. Some people in TN still think Pacman is a good guy.

BTW, I am not a racist and I greatly resent that implication. I said nothing about him being black. You did(Alumseat). You are judging on skin color, I am judging on history. He's been a problem everywhere he has been. It will resurface when things don't go his way.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

Dillon wanted to stockpile money? Where are you getting this crap? He played hurt the last two years he was here.

Oh, he's a Bungles fan. Never mind then. You're one to talk about "thugs" when your entire team is made up of them.

He beat his wife. Maybe in your mind that's ok. To me he's a punk. Slap your woman=thug.

Re: DO you think that at the end of the year, Moss will take less money again to stay

I say Stallworth has a better chance of leaving than Moss. Brady and Moss have something special going on. In addition, I think that my boy Chad Jackson will take over at the #2 next year with our boy Welker dominating the slot duties.

Who is Chad Jackson?

Yeah, but you never addressed your comments on stockpiling money... Dillon didn't command a particularly large amount of money and played admirably while injured the last two years he was here. Him hitting his wife had nothing to do with that.

His arrest record includes battery for involvement in a racially-charged fight, a probation violation for smoking marijuana, and misdemeanor traffic violation. Big deal. He's a football player, not a saint, but that doesn't change the fact that by all accounts (including his own) he loves being a New England Patriot and has developed a great chemistry with Tom Brady.
