Re: Pats might just be guilty...

My question is this.

Even IF there was a camera, and they did record the signals, there was no way they could effect this game. If it was either a camera or digital record the images would have to be processed and then matched up with game film. So how could this help them during the game?

Your right it couldn't, but the one and only thing it does is cast dispersions on the Pats and make excuses for the Jets.

The only things that camera recorded was Mangini flipping coins to see who blocks for Penny and drawing straws for who defends Moss. Oh...and a white flag in the 4th qtr.

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Funny...imagine if the league office started playing the tape, and all the guy really filmed was girls in the stands.
I like the Mangini picking his nose option better :D

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Cousin,
What????Is this the so-called spy in the picture? Observations:
1) The guy has a better view of the action than the Jets coaches have. If that is Mr. Patriot cameraman, perhaps the Jets Security Chief should have his butt fired!
2) I can see this gentleman in "green" turn around when someone asks him if he was a coach? and he says back, "No, but I slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night!".
3) At least BB had him dress in Jets green so he was not conspicuous. It was like a scene from the Dirty Dozen when the U.S. convict soldier couldn't speak German, when the German trooper asked him for a light. Maybe Mangini asked him for a light in German? Or how about Daboll? That could be German?
4) The only guy I have seen get closer to the action in a game was the Burger "King" dude....
Wait a minute!!!!
5) Maybe the guy taking pictures was the guy from Fatheads and the Security Chief only noticed him because his camera was bigger than he was? You guys can all relax. He was doing a new Fathead of Randy for your kids rooms!
6) I am sure if this was true, BB would have had one of those cameras for the green guy like the tape recorder in Mission Impossible, saying if anyone found out about the mission, he was "disavowing any knowledge of this" and have the camera burn up to a crisp in :10 seconds. Mr. Kraft could afford one of those.

P.S. Hey I am just adding some humor. I know it took some time to do your pic work. Thank you.

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Here is a pict of what I observed. I hope this guy works for the Jets.
Find Koppen and look up and you will see him. Mangini has his hands
on his hips on the left...

Thanks for this. By far the most worthwhile contribution on this topic , amongts all the threads. I've added the "troll" accusers to my ever growing ignore list , which is essentially the only reason to log in to this site.

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Alright. This thread is ridiculous. If the picture that you posted is "the guy"...it makes the story that much funnier. Really, the Pats are gonna send the same guy (that was probably around when Mangina coached with the Pats) to the Jet sideline 15 yards from the head coach, with a camera that looks like a bazooka and point it at Mangina?

Wow. Right...and 9/11 was an inside job too.

Or was taking rear end shots of the players! That might be a little awkward.

Thanks for those who at least objectively looked at the picture and defended me...I appreciate it but I knew what to expect here as there is nothing more loyal than Pats fans.

No, I'm not a troll. I've been a Pats fan for 35 years and read this board a lot but rarely post. I thought I had something to offer that might show why the Jets made these accusations, not to prove them. I, like all of you hope there is nothing to them. There are several other views that show this same guy on the far sideline near the other pool of photographers around the 10 yard line. He sticks out like a sore thumb because he has no orange 'flack' jacket on. I noticed most, if not all photographers had some sort of very vivid jacket on. It is also noteworthy that while all the other photographers were filming the field action this guy had his camera pointed toward the Jets bench. It is quite possible this isn't even the guy in question, just something I picked up on. I will try and post more picts if there is interest, although I understand if there isn't since it paints the Pats in a potentially bad light.

I appreciate the picture post. I will say that the person in question does not fit the description of the person in the news article, nor does his location. If you have other pics, please post.

that made me giggle :singing:

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

I am ashamed of the number of fans on this site who have found it necessary to post thread-after-thread about the non-issue of stealing signals.

We just played on of the most dominant games in years, our team looks very powerful and we have a playoff type game this Sunday that has far reaching implications and you're all acting like Patriots turn-coats.

Stop it, you're embaressing me and insulting everything the Patriots have done for us...

AND IT'S MAKING ME SICK!

LET'S ALL CUT THE CRAP HERE AND SUPPORT THE BEST COACH ANY TEAM COULD EVER HAVE! OTHERWISE WE A BUNCH OF IDIOTS!

Hey, you posted the same thing on another thread!

According to Mort the guy was on the Patriots sideline, not the Jets. This makes a lot more sense to be honest, and makes this story sound a little more true, but we'll see.

Thank you for posting the picture (more are welcome) and for taking the heat for reluctantly raising an unpopular opinion. I believe that this is a story that will not go away. If we only listen to people we agree with, pretty soon we fall into the trap of politicians or leaders who only listen to the people around them.

The only explanation I have seen that satisfies me as a Pats fan is the one that suggests that BB is using so blatant a potential violation of clearly stated NFL rules to tweak Mangini and that the tape that gets to the NFL offices will either be blank, completely out of focus or one of the movies that Mangenius uses to "motivate" the Jets. Now, that would be funny and those of us who have taken the story seriously will have (welcome) egg on our faces.

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Mortimer also reported that the camera was confiscated by "NFL Officials". Earlier articles mentioned the camera being seized by Jackbooted Thugs from the Jets organization.

Mortimer has been collossally premature and wreckless with his scoops lately.

I'll wait to hear from League on this one.... Mangina has been incredibly petulant and vindictive since leaving the Pats. I wouldn't put anything past the weasel.

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Hey, you posted the same thing on another thread!

I "TRIED" to post it on every single thread regarding this tired non-issue...but there are too many and it was making me sick seeing all the Patriots turncoats blabbering away.

According to the article at scout.com..."According to a Meadowlands source, a member of the Patriots organization, with a credential issued by the team, was spotted by Jets security chief Steve Yarnell shooting near the New York bench.

and that has since been refuted by multiple sources........

This is a very reckless and irresponsible post. First of all, there are a hundred people with cameras - how can you know which one it was ? You simply forwarded through your DVR and looked for someone 'suspicious' (my DVR actually has a better image than your capture) .

None of the articles say the person was dressed like the Jets staff. Don't you think that would be the most salient fact that would be reported ?

The guy you "think" is the guy is standing with the Jets staff who are dressed the same way. One of them seems to be grouped with him, standing only a few feet away - perhaps even chatting with him. Do you think that could possibly happen ?

And of course you got the sidelines wrong.

It's obvious that you most likely got the wrong guy.

But I can tell you one thing - idiots all aver the net will be link this "photo from
a Pats fan" and posting it everywhere as "proof" that the Patriots cheated.

Re: Pats might just be guilty...

Isn't that guy standing there completely obvious? He just wandered over to the Jets sideline and started taping right next to the coaches? And then wandered back to the Pats? So I don't think it's that particular guy, it just seems like he is asking to be caught.

Then again, the Pats seem like they were stupid/arrogant about this whole thing, so I guess it's not impossible.

I think that this might be the truth!!!!!!

According to reports, the Patriots have been cited on three different ocassions filming like this. Now BB is no idiot, if he has been doing this, he has been doing this for a while, and the Mangenius knows about it. So I can't see him doing this in the Meadowlands, knowing full well that Mangenuis knows about this, and certainly not using the same guy! Go onto any camera website and you can see that you can easily buy small cameras that would be undetectable! Every Law Enforcement office has a mini camera/microphone (bodywire) which you can buy, these cameras have self contained digital hardrives and are about the size of pack of cigarettes. The have even smaller models which transmit the images wirelessly. Now if the Pats guy had one of these on him, then the Pats are guilty. But if the guy has a simple video camera (which it seems he did have, from the reports) then I bet (hope) that the tape contains either:

a) Jenna Jamison
b) The JETS guy filming the Pat's coaches

It just doesn't make sense that BB would do something this brazen, BB is always a few steps ahead of everyone, I can't see them doing this. If they did, then they are STUPID and I will lose alot of respect for them.
