OTAs 5/26/16

I was thinking more of an oxidized poster.

Or at least I felt the same reading his posts as I did listening to Fegler.

Nah Rusty isn't Felger. He just parrots Felger. It's probably Dalen Cuff. He's a Felger protege so I'd put money that Rusty is Dalen.

Found this interesting from Paul Perillo of PFW:

Several assistant coaches donned T-shirts with the old Pat Patriot logo on the front and the word “FINISH” on the back.

First day of OTAs? YAWN. I'll start taking an interest in the pre-season just before the 3rd pre-season game.

Well forgive me if my oh-so-desperate attempt to get folks' juices pumping for the coming season (yes a long 3 months away) is a lost cause on you.

You all may now return to your stimulating, thought-provoking Deflategate discussions already in progress (13 threads related to it on the first page alone).

I saw the thread title and felt something. It felt somewhat normal, but hadn't felt in quite a while. Wouldn't you know...I found my first little Pat Patriot in my pants for the first time of the '16 season! So thanks for the "stimulation".

:D

I know we're all high on DJ's potential (prematurely of course - though I do like those legs)
but I think it would be wrong not to bring up another name and thats Jimmy G
Every report was really impressed with him
(quicker release, better read, more accuracy - compared to last year)
so it looks like Jimmy-be-Good

In the football never ending off season, it is good to get some football news..

Glad to see BB is raring to go and keeping his team focused..

Anything is better than the continual deflategate discussions.

Excited to watch Jimmy G this preseason and maybe the first four games If he lights it up, moving on from a young talented QB seems very wrong.
However moving on from Tom before hes ready to retire and playing like Tom seems stupid.
If Tom looks less than Terrific and Jimmy lights it up wow will this forum be entertaining.

Haha! Consider this reply a "Winner" rating because it made me laugh first so I gave a "Funny", lol

Although not in full pads obviously, everything I read about Jimmy G suggests he looks very good and quick with his reads. They say he is exactly where he should be at this point in his career. The future looks bright in NE after the GREAT ONE hangs up his cleats.

Oh, and I heard Martellus was a beast!

I love that Andrews continues to shine. I hated when he was benched in favor of Stork, though I like Stork. The competition at C should be very interesting in TC.

I'll play Dr. Phil and believe BB has been chewing on glass since the AFCCG, is pissed that his #1 pick was taken away and the events from yesterday annoy him as they are a distraction.

Chewing into players sends a message. FOCUS. IGNORE THE NOISE.
Honestly, injury is the only thing I worry about with this team. They're good enough to win it all on paper and in reality. If guys stay healthy, NE runs away with the AFC and is in the Dance come February 2017. I've never felt this strongly about it going into a season except for maybe 2003 and 2007 off seasons. I just think BB executed this off season masterfully and with purpose. I, too, think he's seething right now.

Agreed. Healthy they are the class of the division, conference and league.

Like any team there are concerns...o-line, pass rush, running game, 3rd LB learning the D, new receivers picking up the offense and gaining TB12s confidence...

Oh, no doubt. There are definitely things that need to be worked out in TC and the early part of the regular season. But I doubt we'll see the kind of "collapse" down the stretch that we saw last season. And I know it's a bit taboo for some, including myself, but I believe that team would have been 16-0 without all the injuries. They were far and above better than every team in the NFL through the first ten weeks last season. It wasn't even close. And they still came within two points from representing the AFC in the SB. Our coach is better, our QB is better, our organization is better. I am really hoping for an F-U tour because I'm PISSED that another off season is being dominated by deflated footballs and not actual football. The league and the media does everything to discredit the greatness, rather than celebrating something so rare and one we may not see for a long time once this run is over.

I do wonder what they do cap wise for Jimmy G if they want to keep him after year 4. Do they trade Brady at that point hedging their bets he doesn't have much time left even if he still looks the same or do they just sign both of them to fairly big deals and ride it out. If Brady is willing to go on a pay as you go deal it makes it possible to keep both.

Imagine the optimism another fan base would be exhibiting if they didn't already have an established QB like TB, and were hoping that they FINALLY had one in Jimmy G.

I would think that they would pay him at the top end of backup $ and add a bonus structure if he starts X # of games he would then be in the same neighborhood as the lower-paid starters like Chase Daniel, Foles and Dirty Sanchez.

So cap # around $5m seems to be reasonable but since they drafted Jacoby I dont think they are interested in doing that.

I'm straight up salivating for TC right now. You guys have no idea how bad I'm itching for that sh*t. I can't f-ing wait! Please stay away, Mr. Injury bug. PLEASE!
