First, it was Peyton. Now, it's Nick Foles:

Rams coach Jeff Fisher announced this afternoon that he is benching Foles. Case Keenum is the Rams’ new starting quarterback.

Fisher said he’s hoping that Keenum will provide an “offensive spark” for the team, which is reeling from back-to-back losses in which its offense failed to do much of anything.

Foles, who was acquired from Philadelphia in a trade that sent Sam Bradford to the Eagles, has completed 56.6 percent of his passes this season, with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. His 75.9 passer rating is the third-worst among starting quarterbacks, ahead of only Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

Rams bench Nick Foles, will start Case Keenum

In an interesting side note, the QB Foles was traded for, Bradford, will not be starting this week either, though his absence is due to injury.

So get ready for your new starting NFL QBs for this week:

Osweiller
Sanchez
Keenum

foles stinks.
thought he would be a good one after his 27 td's/2 int season...so much for that.

surprised jeff fisher is still around.

"Hey Sanchez, whatever you do don't throw a pick.....a field goal wins this. "

What the hell was he thinking?

This really puts a crimp in Foles' quest to better Favre's total yardage record.

Jeff Fisher is the most overrated coach around. He is purely a creation of the media and his media management skills keep the heat off him. People kill chip kelly for the sam bradford trade but nick foles is benched. He trotted out all his players acquired via the RG3 draft pick trade rex style for the coin toss vs the skins but his team still sucks.

That was always my issue too. Obviously the trade hasn't worked well for Washington but at least they made the playoffs

I'm very interested to see Osweiler, at 6'8" and a cannon arm. The other two have proven you are better off taking the family for hike than watch them.

I just keep thinking of how excited everyone was over a tall guy with a big arm named Ryan mallet getting to start down in Houston. Had a good game and then the rest didn't go great

At the very least you'll get to see the red forehead pretending to be a team player on the sidelines while making sure we all see his bad limp.

Could he try to play in a walking boot?

Add TJ Yates to the list?

Don't think he'd be dumb enough to try to rip off one of Rothyburger's famous patented fake limps. When it comes to dramatic fake limps, Ben is in a class by himself.

Hopefully he'll try to develop something original.

The NFL is going to be an interesting league in a few years at the QB position. All of the great QBs are in their 30's and of the guys below 30 none of them stand out as being that elite passer. Luck, Newton and Wilson are probably at best Roethleisberger types. They can be exciting. You can win a championship with them but I wouldn't call any of them HOF passers who can pick apart a defense.

The 2000's really have been the golden age. There's nobody on the horizon who can touch Brady, Rogers, Manning or Brees. There really doesn't appear to be guys who can touch the second tier of Eli, Ben, Rivers or even Flacco.

Matt Ryan is 30 and is probably equal to Matt Hasslebeck from the 2000's. Stafford sucks. Tannehill meh. Foles sucks. Cousins meh. Geno Smith LMAO. Caepernick sucks. Griffin bust. Bradford bust. Dalton meh.

Even the three mobile QBs mentioned before are just above average if they didn't have the defenses. Luck hasn't really had a great defense but he's had the luxury of playing in the worst division in football. Talk about a can of tomatoes.

Bridgewater, Bortles and Carr all show some signs at least but it's way too early.

Maybe the position will go the mobile college route and we've seen the last of the great pocket passers which will be too bad.

Luck has been decidedly unlucky when it comes to where he ended up. He's gotten absolutely abused on that team, which is (as we know too well) being run and managed by a pack of morons and weasels.

He wasn't perfect entering the league, nobody is, but he's had to trade working on his craft and getting better for simple survival. If they clean house there--or if he just decides to get the hell out and go somewhere sane--I think he'll have a tremendous career.

Perhaps.......but he really hasn't advanced in his progressions. Maybe if Ariens had stayed he would have. Carson Palmer under Ariens has been the QB many of us thought he would be coming out after squandering most of his career under Marvin Lewis. Luck makes the same type of mistakes that Palmer did in Cincinnati locking in on his downfield receivers, be situationally unaware of what's needed of him (AKA taking unneeded chances with a lead or not simply picking up a first down and going for the kill shot).

So there's merit to what you're saying but he's stuck in Indy. They'll franchise him and pay to keep him. Best case for him Irsay gets rid of Grigson.
