I know fullback isn't a vital role, but it's a nice option to have on certain plays. Even if Develin does recover and return midseason, I wonder whether the Pats should add depth behind that position.
A possible candidate would be Trey Millard, who is still under his rookie contract with the 49ers. SF doesn't really have the roster space for him. He tore his ACL in October 2013, fell to the 7th round and didn't play at all last season. Because San Fran is pretty deep at RB and FB, Millard hasn't had a chance to do much but play special teams in the preseason.
According to @Wilfork#75, Millard can lead block as a FB, run and catch it out of the backfield, line up at TE and even slot WR. Not to mention, he was also Oklahoma's best special teams player.
I say we offer a low-round draft pick for the man. What do you think?
