Zolak said in his 98.5 show that he has heard through their sources that even though Kraft said he would accept the decision by the league, his sources said that the Pats plan to go on the offensive on this. Didn't say how, but it should be interesting.

Would Kraft sue the league for defamation? I think the Pats may have a stronger defamation suit than Brady.

The league messed up with this punishment. They referenced spygate, and came down with a conclusive verdict when there wasn't one to be made based on the report.

If Brady was suspended for 1 game for not cooperating, no team penalties, and no damnation of the accusations, they could have skated this by.

Vincent's reference to spygate was their legal downfall. IMO

He should sue for malicious intent. Also technically discrimination since his franchise is obviously being treated differently than the others. He could sue for damages caused to his brand due to an improper investigation.

CAN Kraft sue the league for defamation? I thought that was against the CBA. Either way, he should begin publicly speaking out againsy Goodell immediately. Maybe grant an exclusive interview to 60 Minutes or the nightly news and slam him that way on top of calling a press conference to blast Goodell for bungling every single scandal that's come his way.

I think there's no appeal process in the CBA for team based penalties, so there's no legal action he can take within the league. But I doubt it grants the league complete immunity from actual legal action, though I admit that's just speculation on my part.

Does anyone think Kraft either has or knows someone with dirt on Goodell that would permanently sink his ship? Time to play dirty.

It takes a lot of guts and character as a man to go against 31 billionaires and fight for what you feel is right.

If Kraft helps fight this debauchery, even if they fail and it inevitably leads to additional unforeseen consequences, if he went down swinging for Tom and his fans that would be truly admirable.

He's in a very tough situation and this will all be very interesting to see what the final conclusion is.

Thay being said, I refuse to let the NFL profit off of me from this manufactured scandal so I'm dropping my nfl network sports package and I'm not tuning into any sports radio, ESPN or anything else that covers the nfl until training camp

Where's BB? We haven't heard from him since the report came out. Hope he's working on getting some dirt up. You have to think he has a long list of cheating other teams have done.

in this country you can sue anybody

I think the issue with BB is that he can get fined for criticizing the league, but I don't see him doing nothing either so I'm interested to see what happens.

The CBA is an agreement between the players and the league, not between the owners and the league.

Screw suing, spread dirt, innuendo. If you want to nail them you have to be as dirty as they are.
I've been saying this for years. Dig up dirt on everybody. Any time a team, player, owner...etc, so much as spit on the field, file a greivance. Follow their personal lives. Lets see how much integrity they have. It's time.

Is Zolak's source Kraft's press release?

Sure he can. Al Davis sued the League in the 80s for not allowing him to move back to Los Angeles after moving from Oakland to LA to Oakland.

The NFL by laws does not let the Pats appeal the penalty, but they cannot block them from civil actions for defamation.

BTW, if Kraft sues the League and not Brady, then the Pats can subpoena cell phones and emails from League officials, but it will be far harder for the League to sunpoena Brady's cell phone.
