If Brady will be punished, it has not been disclosed to him or the Patriots.

There is a theory that Brady and the Patriots are working with the league to resolve the Deflategate matter, but a variety of sources have told the Herald the NFL is working solely on its own accord to reach a conclusion. There have been zero negotiations between the sides to resolve this matter, and the NFL is not dealing with the Patriots or Brady in any sort of way, according to the sources familiar with the situation.

It's certainly possible the Patriots, including Brady, could be disciplined or even exonerated today after Ted Wells disclosed a 243-page report. Sources have told the the Herald that a verdict is extremely close to being divulged, even indicating Friday morning that a Friday afternoon announcement was possible. Of course, that timeline came and went, but it was a sign the league was closing in on its verdict.

Whatever that verdict happens to be, the NFL is working on its own and not revealing its decision-making process with the Patriots or Brady.

There is nothing to negotiate.

It will be interesting to see if Tom Brady even bothers to personally appeal his suspension or if he will merely file the paperwork.

This is going to get very interesting.

Btw don't be surprised if they go after Belichick too.

Las Vegas Odds are 5-2 no suspension or two game suspension, 2-1 one game suspension..

They are foolish not to try to negotiate, because if Brady appeals in any of several forums it could prove the ineptitude of the NFL and be quite embarrassing..

I hope that even if it's just a slap on the wrist fine, Brady has a statement out within 2 hours that he is appealing.

The Pats -- not Brady -- deserve a wrist-slap for McNally's bathroom trip with the footballs. No penalty for ANYTHING else should be accepted.

Brady should appeal before they even announce it for the lolz.

Just remember that any appeal to arbitration means goody can be the first arbitrator to look at it. Per the CBA.

Vegas oddsmaker Bovada.com lists the over-under on a possible Brady suspension at 3.5 games

Exactly. Even though it's all a load of crock it should be:

- 25k-100k fine for the team.
- No fine or suspension for Tom Brady

at this point, the punishment should be irrelevant......Brady needs to open a legal ****storm against the NFL for defamation and in the process, highlight every thing the prosecution failed to present

at 37 and with 4 SB rings, I would go scorched earth over the trashing of those achievements ........ I would make my own show over the failings of the commissioner....the self-professed hard-ass who takes it up the ass from the greg hardys of the world

Im not even sure what "not negotiating with the Patriots" means. Doesn't seem like to me that the NFL has ever done this.

As far as legal action, I think it is tricky and will take a long time, the guys in the bountygate deal were required to go to arbitration first, that meant Goody was the arbitrator, only after that they went to a federal judge and forced the NFL to use an outside arbitrator. Goodell is Brady's first shot at it and Goodell isnt going to change it. Thats how this goes if it indeed goes that way at all.

Im not even sure of my confidence of Brady fighting any penalty, we all think he will but Im not so sure. Thats just my opinion.

If brady accepts a penalty of any kind it admits guilt. I don't believe Brady did anything wrong so to take one for the "team" the team in this case being the NFL, I just don't see that happening. The league isnt negotiating with the Pats because there isn't anything to negotiate.

What sort of penalty will you guys accept?-league

"Excuse me?"-Patriots

We want this to go away, what can we hit you with that you won't appeal?-league

"we didn't do anything wrong, and your report is ********, we will appeal EVERY penalty you give us"-Patriots

Don't be that way, if you don't make a deal with us now we will throw the book at you-league

"I'm sure mid throw you will forget what book it was, who threw it, and excuse us of ruining the book after it lands in a puddle"-Patriots

Fine Brady 12 game suspension, patriots lose next two 1's and a 5 million dollar fine. -league

"We will see you in court"-Patriots

As a member of the NFLPA, Tom Brady has the right to appeal any sanctions. Unless it's a $25K fine or something in that range, Brady should work through that process. His counsel will work with NFLPA counsel to structure the appeal, and the strategy for any meetings with the NFL.

Goodell will hear the first appeal of Vincent's decision. He could look fairly at Brady's appeal, and notice that there is zero evidence that he ever requested anyone to lower the PSI below the allowable limit.

If Goodell stands firm, then the arbitration process before an independent arbitrator, usually a federal judge, begins. The NFL has not done well at that stage of the process. The lack of any evidence in the Wells report becomes central to any decision at that point.

anthony hargrove got 8 games for obstruction...nfl can say brady did the same and give him 8 games plus a few more for the the balls.

makes me nervous. the nfl wants to take brady down and destroy his reputation.

How can Goodell be negotiating with the Pats or Brady when he is watch ESPN to gauge Mark Brunell's crying to determine how many games he should suspend Brady. I hear he is using the formula of one game for every crocodile tear Brunnel sheds.

I agree with you, if he doesn't fight any suspension, it signifies guilt. BUT, Maybe Kraft is telling him to just accept whatever punishment is being handed down. Kraft already stated his team will accept whatever punishment is handed down.

Go after him for what, being over-exonerated in the Wells Report.
