Nailed it.

At least enough patience is in order to determine how much of the damage gets undone in a BoB offense. For about 5 minutes I was so intrigued by Zappe, but that went away when they made him look like a rookie a couple games in.

Errybuddy, there's no "Hey remember how Brady's career went let's have that again!" button. Stop being children. Boo hoo, Mac isn't elite. He can be good. It's conceivable he's got more upside than we're thinking. But if he's among the top 10 QBs in the league, that might be the conundrum we find ourselves in. Find a way to win without the ONE GREAT QB. If he ever becomes "great," so be it. If he's Eli rather than Peyton, though -- the likely outcome -- cope.

If he TRULY stinks, the rookie contract is a nice length of time to figure that out... you only shorten it from that timeframe if he's truly wretched.

You don't do that on the strength of one bad year with no O coordinator (to start with.)
