Personally i feel like he's the next one. I don't think we've seen a QB with his power and finesse. He's built like Big Ben/Cam, has great speed and is a patient pocket passer. Watching him over the past 2 years, i've seen a QB who's going through his progressions like an elite QB. Without his security blanket in Reggie Wayne and a consistent running game, he's still putting up great numbers. I personally rank him #5 of top QBs behind (Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees).

Just a note, I hate Jim Irsay and the Colts so i don't want to root for him.

I respect the hell out of the guy and think he will be elite very soon.

He reminds me of Brett favre - will do some great things and will also do some bad things.

As a Colts fan, i honestly don't think he is there yet, still a little bit inconsistent, but he made some big strides this season compared to last year. Still have those occasional head scratcher throws. At the moment i have him at around nr. 6 in the league. Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Rivers (this season) are clearly better. But next year maybe he can take the leap, and bump one or two of those guys down on that list, maybe even more. He has a chance to be a perennial MVP candidate, and one of the best of all-time, but he needs to keep improve his decision making, that's literally his only weakness. He is an amazing athlete, with a rocket arm.

He's pretty damn good and he almost always has a better 2nd half than first half (I know this because he was my fantasy QB this year, and he would have very few points in the 1st half then explode in the 2nd half). He had a few terrible games when Wayne went down, but obviously has righted the ship. The Pats need to figure out why he was so bad for a few weeks there (and it may just be that he had to really work on his game with receivers other than Wayne) and make him revert to that form.

I did not get to watch the Indy/KC game, so I don't really know what happened to make KC implode. Would it really be so simple for the Pats as putting Talib on Hilton and running, running, running the ball to keep Luck off the field? I did note that there was some talk about Andy Reid messing up the end of the game. How is it, after what happened in the 2004 Super Bowl that that man has not yet come up with a 2 minute drill?

One thing that is making me mad is this morning is it seems like everyone is talking about 3 teams being left in the AFC - Denver, Indy and SD, and forgetting about the 4th one. I hope BB has one of his legendary sessions where he shows the team what everyone is saying (or not) about them...

Obviously Luck's ceiling is the best QB in the league. He has the mobility/speed of a Newton/Wilson yet is a cerebral pocket passer like Brady/Manning. Who knows if he'll reach that ceiling.

Talking right now, Russell Wilson is a better QB. He has superior pocket presence and decision making. If Luck fixes these two areas, then he'll pass Wilson and probably be right with Brady/Manning/Rodgers/Brees. Luck still makes some boneheaded decisions and doesn't sense the rush at a great level yet IMO.

I wish Luck/Wilson were in the same conference, they could of became the next Brady/Manning rivalry.

He stepped into the league as a top-12 QB, and will be the best in the game sooner rather than later. It took Peyton Manning 3 or 4 years to really become Peyton Manning, and Brady was more of a game manager until 2004. Quarterbacks take time, but Luck has all the makings of one of the best of all-time.

Luck is one of the top 10 QB's in the league (the 8 in the playoffs plus Rodgers and Roeslisberger). Luck's ceiling is to be determined. He certainly could be one of the very top QB's in the league in a few years.

He has the potential to one of the best ever, but has a ways to go. He is probably better than Brady and Manning in their second years starting, but I don't think he is among the elite of the NFL just yet.

(the 8 in the playoffs plus Rodgers and Rothleisberger)

I'll mostly agree, but Kaepernick isn't a top-10 QB consistently. Stafford and Romo are definitely more deserving of that distinction; I'd probably put Romo above Roethlisberger, too.

Newton and Kap much more dangerous b/c unlike them when Luck runs, he's not looking to throw.

Unlike some of the other top young QBs he's having to do a lot more of it alone. Look at the defenses that Wilson, Kaepernick and Newton have. The Colts defense is mediocre at best. Then look at the skill position players and he has the weakest set after Wayne went down. His RBs are the worst of the 4 and after Hilton there's not much there. It's really hard to compare him to any one of the current elite QBs. He's not a pure pocket guy like Brady or Manning and his size makes him different than when he scrambles than Brees or Rodgers. The best comparison I think is he's Ben Roethlisberger but smart. He can read defenses and doesn't just chuck it like Ben. He can take a hit but is smart enough to only do it when he needs to. He scrambles with a purpose and doesn't take the stupid sacks Ben takes at times. Really I think the kid is as billed and will be elite in a few years.

I suppose that we have no arguments about the top 12. I agree that Kaepernick isn't consistent, but neither is Romo or Stafford.

I do agree that Romo has been often under-rated.

Of course, Kaepernick's major advantage is that he is the #2 runner on the team (often #1) and still is a reasonable passer. So, for me, some of his inconsistencies in the passing game is made up for by his contribution to the running game.

Luck doesn't fold in big games (so far). He seems relaxed when the spotlight is on, and when the game is on the line. He seems to play poorly early in the game, and well late in the game.
Physically he's a great athlete. Not many guys could recover that fumble and stretch out over the goaline like that. It's a luxury to have a guy that can improvise when things break down or when things go wrong.
He's a little like Brady in that he's cool and calm under pressure.

He'll be in the upper tier one day, but isn't there quite yet. That said, he is getting faster and faster at going through his progressions and has been improving since the team lost Wayne in the Colts game. He's a very good, very dangerous quarterback but he doesn't have the defense to help him get to and win the big one just yet, IMO.

He is progressing NICELY. He will be a force to reckon with, especially once they can better protect him. If I were an Indy fan - I would be PUMPED. You have your next great. I hope we find one who can hang with Luck. You are set for YEARS. Enjoy!

I'd say young, but still a playoff caliber QB who hasn't hit his ceiling (or keep on redefining his ceiling like the greats do).

I think he's right in the mix of the young guns.

Wilson, luck, Kapernick, All three have potential to be really great qb's in the future.

Wilson/Luck could be the new Brady/Manning except without all yearly non-division games.

he looks already so good

Agree 100%. He's a QB that you can never count out of a game, very clutch. Even as a rookie he was clutch with several comeback wins, last weeks comeback from 28 behind just shows you the type of QB he is. Only disagreement I have with this comment is, I think he's elite already, and he scares the crap outta me as a Patriot's fan, more than any QB left except for maybe Peyton Manning. Luck has passed for more yardage in his first 2 years than any QB in the history of the game, he's on his way to greatness, hopefully we delay that for a little bit.
