The break at the screw of the plate was a risk but a very small one. We read that it would be a risk prior to the Houston game. In other words, Gronk somehow suffered a freak injury a month after he suffered a freak injury.

I think all the WRs will get snaps as the Jets are pretty stout up front, but Edelman looked beat up at the end of the game and was limited this week. Projecting BB's plans is a fool's game, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Collie get more snaps this week. In a handful of snaps Sunday, albeit some crucial, he got open where he was supposed to be and caught the ball. We need more of that.

The GRONK effect will be most seen in the running game and routes up in the seam and the middle. Teams are going to have to double him otherwise he's going to shred them in those areas. The offense will be massively better just by having his presence in the line-up.

Gronk makes life easier for Edelman, and eventually Amendola and Vereen. Thompkins and Dobson will be 1-on-1 outside and up the field.

I disagree with your assessment of the effect of Gronk. I think that we have been had a middle of the field threat in Edelman. He has shown himslef to be a reasonable slot receiver.

I think that Gronk's biggest effect, in his limited action, will be as a red-zone target.

According to ESPN splits, Edelman has caught 4 passes in the middle of the field this year.

I'm not sure why you are expecting the Patriots to not use Gronk. Do you think there is less need for him than when Welker and Hernandez were here?
