Per league sources, Patriots have inquired with Seattle about what it would take to get to 12. Could be just info gathering. Could be more.

Probably some type of smoke screen, but we can hope. Get us some impact guys Bill!

Getting jacked and pumped are you?

Haha, no not really Im expecting us to trade out of the round entirely. I'd like to get one or two guys that can start now because the window is closing and the later 1st round 2nd round guys usually don't do much during their first year.

This means the pats are really in love with mark barron

This goes along with the other reports about the Pats' interest in Mark Barron. He won't get past Dallas. Personally I don't know if a safety is worth up trading for. I'd rather they get two good players instead of just one

Mark Barron?

He would be worth the trade up, Luke Kuechly too.

I think Safeties are becoming increasingly important in this new NFL where everyone is starting to copy our two TE offense. Barron fits the mold he's a great player and fills the need to draft one of Belichicks buddies kids (Meyer/Saban). I think the defense needs a 34 DE and Safety equally those two additions will make the linebackers and corners that we already have that much better. I think BB sees it this way too judging by his interest in Red Bryant and Landry.

I will feel so sorry for him when BB trades down. I have spent years getting excited when I hear news like this about the Pats...only to end up feeling like this by the end of the draft :bricks:

Don't feel sorry for me brother, I know how this show works. Pretty sure a similar report came out last year with us trying to trade up for some OLB/DE type and then we draft Solder and don't address OLB till the 6th round :bricks::bricks::bricks:

Don't see them doing this for Barron. They can get good cover safeties in Menzie or Taylor much later.

Mark Barron?

He would be worth the trade up, Luke Kuechly too.

Both are names that spring to mind, so are Fletcher Cox and even Quinton Coples....

Man, that would make for an exciting night! But I'm about 90% sure they wouldn't draft Barron. Just a hunch.

They do this every year. It's part of due diligence, finding out what every pick and hot or trending player is going for helps establish what your picks and targets are worth.

Bet Seattle leaked this because they want to be able to trade back if Tannehill is gone, which he likely will be due to Ross insistence on drafting another QB for Miami...and they're trying to scare Jerry into picking up his phone...

National disinformation day folks...

I don't know if I would bet on the trade happening, but it is very likely the Pats inquired of what it would take to trade up to that spot. Not that they will pull the trigger even if "their guy" is there at 12.

I did say that this may be the year the Pats get aggressive and trade up, but this report doesn't guarantee it.

Mo is correct here.

Based on the current feeding frenzy for Barron, there are 4-6 teams that be in play. Since the Patriots have cred and the ammo, it makes perfect sense that Seattle would want this on the street.

However, Mike Lombardi LOVES Chandler Jones so who knows.

That's my thoughts too. Barron looks like the next great safety to me. Pick him up if you can make the trade and retain #31 for use on the front seven the nab Boykin on Day 2 and you've addressed 3 significant needs: secondary, DE/OLB, and KR/PR.

I would love if we traded up for Chandler Jones or Mark Barron. Both impact players IMO.

You and Mo are both correct in this regard. But I'd be really pleased if it happened.
