I watched quite a few Bengals games....this guy can plan. Curious to see how he will be used. I wonder if he'll see time both in the middle and outside. Great value for this guy. He won't make headlines but he'll do well in the trenches.
Yes, and it is a perfect reminder of the joys of being a Pats fan. 5% better here, 5% better there, and presto, an .800 winning percentage, Division titles, and Super Bowls.
Oh…I see what you did there!
I have never watched this guy play so can't make any big pronouncements about this move , but i am tired of us going for these mid level guys as primary starters. I have no problems in having them as rotation guys like this guy was in Cinci. Yes we have always gone after value guys but people don't forget that when we were winning super bowls our starting d-line was just 1 st rounders , and arguably the best d-line in football .To have a good defense you have to put in major investment in your d-lines

Bobby Hamilton and Anthony Pleasant say hello.
along with richard seymour, ty warren, ted washington........hamilton and pleasant not only had it different with the guys around them, but they were also proven within the system
a little early to be dubbing fanene as one of those guys
Remind me again, which of those guys were on the 2001 team?

I don't see Fanene as much of a base guy anyway. I think he is a straight Mike Wright replacement as a sub rusher and backup DE.
seymour....the best of the bunch
and like I said, hamilton and pleasant were already proven within the scheme
Not sure how that's relevant given the post I was responding to initially.

By all accounts he is better vs the run than Wright. Seeing that he, by all accounts is just as good as a pass rusher he should play more in 3-4 and 4-3 sets.
LOL.......right
