Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill!

Just going by what BB has said more than once: that he values the 3 cone above all of the drills at the combine, and that he values route running and intelligence over speed. Rely on his word more than your cherry picking stat analysis.

How am I cherry picking. He has picked 5 wr's in the first 3 rounds. One didn't run. The slow one ran a 4.47 (Deion Branch). The other three had great speed, and were in the top 4 at the position for the forty.

So he can say what he wants, but he does not draft slow wr's in the top 3 rounds. He may take them as UDFA's or he may trade for them, but it is fact that is he drafts them, they are fast.

Feel free to cite any contradictory evidence.

Stephen Hill had the best WR #'s at the Combine.

oh, and he's 6'4

Don't set too much store on a combine :) It's a mistake often made by a lot of people.

By his combine he looked great, just hope that if we draft him he won't become another Chad Jackson...

Hill went to GA Tech, anyone will tell you this is a serious school. I think we can all agree that Florida (home to jean shorts and mullets) is not exactly churning out rhodes scholars.

For those wanting some positive tape on this guys, check Week 4 home against North Carolina.

Atleast one really good catch with one hand and some good YAC.

Note the one drop in the 4th quarter though.

The combine has vastly inflated his stock. His 3 cone was weak and so is his route running, and we also don't have any clue whether he'll be able to get the offense. I say we sign Brandon Lloyd and let other teams overpay for Hill.

I think it would be a good idea to do both! Sign Lloyd and Draft Hill. We've got no promising young receivers so we'll need one anyway.

It all depends on where you want to take him. I'd be ok with a 3rd round pick but he just might have gotten himself into the 1st round, I'm not comfortable with spending that much on him given our other needs.

I like him though. Not sure he will fit or be productive since I havent watched all his tape yet so hard to make an opinion. The games I´ve seen has been impressive though.

I think alot of those wanting us to draft him is actually showing a will for us to draft a big fast receiver on the outside. A WR that WILL work.

Lets hope he is the "golden one" :)

He;'s not going to work. He can't read a coverage, he can't run routes very well and his route tree was basic in college in a triple option attack where he had to do very little. All you will be able to do with this guy is send him on a flare route and throw it up their for him

Don't get deceived by good college numbers. He's very raw in terms of being a 'baller'.

I'd sooner take the slower Criner and Sanu over Hill. These guys aren't speedsters but they run the routes well and they know how to read defenses. We need SMART receivers.

I've watched this guy a few times and seen some tape a friend sent over to me...he;'s made some impressive deep plays but you seem to be over looking all the key fundamentals a top WR needs.

So if u havent read a coverage or ran all the routes coming out of college then you are instantly a fail ?

I think going to GT means he is pretty decent in terms of academica. Dont remember his 3-cone but I think it was pretty decent that one too. He might have alot to work on but why wouldnt he get the system ? I dont see the obvious reason ?

Also the route we have been missing is the go route since all the others we have people running them for us. If he can work in a couple of routes to add to that, maybe that will be enough. His over the top threat is what we are missing. Not another middle to short router please.

Now I dont say we should draft him in the first round, but definatly in the second. Lets see whats available in the first round and if nothing we like we trade both 1st for 1st next year and a second this year.

Hearing Nick Caserio talk I think we are getting a DT this year with the first though.

Here's the thing, didn't Taylor Price have speed (I recall 4.3 40 times)?
If they primarily needed someone to run go routes, I'm surprised they didn't attempt to use him in that role.

Good point. Not sure why Taylor wasnt used. Maybe he just didnt improve the way the wanted ? They would have wanted to keep him if he cleared waiver though. Could be that they jsut wanted more experience and confidense on him.

Btw Hill does a great job off blocking in the run game which is also good.

I don't think the Patriots did particularly care if TP cleared Waivers or not. The Pats definitely need someone who can run a go route, but that's not all they need. They need route runners.

Stephen Hill might prove me wrong I will admit; his team workouts and interviews will be massive.

Agree on his blocking. He's exceptional there.

I think someone here posted a BB quote about brining him back if he did clear waivers but since he didnt its a no-issue.

if you use a 1st rounder on a WR, you use it on wallace

For the amount of money and draft pick to sign Wallace. We can probably sign Brandon Lloyd and draft a wr at 31 like; Hill, Randle, Wright or Jeffrey.

Apparently Stephen Hill "wowed" scouts today at his pro day:

Pro-day tracker at Breaking news, real-time scores and daily analysis from Sports Illustrated – SI.com to be updated in minutes...receivers Greg Childs/Arkansas and Stephen Hill/Georgia Tech wowed scouts

Lots of people impressed with his attributes. Now he just needs to show he can read some coverages and implement a playbook. Still not sure if he'd struggle with a team like us or not.

He apparently lost more weight..he doesn't want to lose too much because frame is a big thing in the NFL! Cementing a first round grade form a few people it seems. Is he replacing Wright as some team#s #3?
