Are we legit? We have had 4th easiest schedule in league so far...

That's not entirely true. He responded to someone else who tweeted that, asking if they were nuts.
Thanks for the clarification. I was just repeating from the portion of the show which I heard. A reminder to myself that doing so is risky. No intention to pass along erroneous information.

Just for the record we are the worst 6-1 team in the league this season. Not saying much as we are also the ONLY 6-1 team in the league this season.

You are what your record says you are, especially at this point of the season. Every single team has flaws. Pittsburgh should have 3 losses if the refs didn't hand them the Miami game. The Jets almost lost to a pathetic Broncos squad. The Ravens almost lost to the Bills. The Chiefs almost lost to the Bills. The NFC is a joke which keeps getting funnier.

The Patriots are as legit as any team in the league.

FINALLY someone is taking notice!

Yes, New England's schedule has been a cakewalk thus far.

And folks, SOS based on the LAST season matters until the day THIS season starts. The Pats are not playing teams from last season or their strengths from last season. The Pats are playing teams from THIS season and how they're playing right NOW.

And the fact is, THIS season, the vast majority of the teams they've faced have mostly been very weak or struggling. Baltimore is the only strong team they've beaten. You can say Minnesota, SD, etc, but the fact is those teams this season are BAD. Their record from last year means literally zilch. It's how they're playing currently.

Pittsburgh's 5-2 is much, MUCH more impressive than the Pats 6-1, especially when you consider that Pittsburgh got many of those wins with their star quarterback injured.

When the Pats start putting away some more .500+ teams, then maybe it'll be safe to say they're the best. But right now they've been beating up on teams at the bottom of the league.

That's a fact folks. Try and justify it all how you will. But it is a fact.

Steeler's fan??

I'll never forget how many times the Pats have made Steeler fans go home crying in their little yellow towels.:D We're much, MUCH more impressive!

Bingo. No one is perfect, and frankly no one is finding more ways to win games than the Pats. We might not be the most talented team in the league, but I think we have the most untapped potential.

I haven't really checked, but I hope this SammyB guy has been banned.

Actually no, that is not a fact; that is an opinion. Apparently the difference between a fact and an opinion was never taught in the Pittsburgh school system - which partially explains some of the typical comments from Steeler fans.

A fact would be that the next time a season goes by without a Steeler fan whining about how hard Pittsburgh's schedule is while also whining that the Patriots have an easy schedule, that will also be the first time that happens.

I swear, I literally hear Pittsburgh fans crying about how difficult their schedule is and how easy the Pats is every single season. More than once I've seen a Steeler fan go on about how the NFL is out to get them by giving their team a difficult schedule, eventually leading to the revelation that they have no clue about the NFL schedule rotation and how that works. The irony in that is that their division includes two of the weakest teams in the NFL over the last ten or fifteen years - the Browns and the Bengals - and they account for 25% of Pittsburgh's schedule every single year.

We'll know more about this team after the next three games. Do they keep their attention on Cleveland this weekend or turn their attention toward next weekend and the Steelers? After that, we have an extremely tough game against an extremely tough team at an extremely tough stadium to play at. To be honest, I'm chalking the Steelers game up as a loss. After that, we get a usually tough game against Peyton Manning and the Colts. We SHOULD be able to beat them if we're really the team that most people are saying we are. The Colts are extremely banged up and we're playing them at home. If we go 2-1 against that schedule, we are the team that everyone thinks we are. If we go 3-0, we might be better than the team that everyone thinks we are. If we go 1-2 or less, we might be in trouble... and the SoS argument that the troll just brought up because a very valid point.

Well, to be fair, I still think we're a young defense who is going to continue to have some hiccups before they solidify towards the end of the year. If they have those hiccups against teams like the Steelers or Colts, we might not be able to overcome them to get the W. I don't think it's that important. However, I personally think we've already solidified enough to go 3-0 during this stretch.

We shall see. And I hope you're right. I'm thinking we go 2-1 with a loss at Pittsburgh. Like I said, it's a tough team with a great defense and a great quarterback in a tough place to play. Plus, Roethlisberger has options in both the running and passing game that he's never had before when he's played us. If we lose any of those three games, it's to the Steelers. The Browns are the Browns and it's hard to see Belichick not having the team up and ready to go for a Mangini-led squad. And the Colts will be tough, but they're really banged up and we play at home.

Losing Aaron Smith really hurts for the Steelers. I agree that this will be a tough game, and it could go either way.

I admit to drinking the kool aid and looking at this through my homervision 3D glasses, and agree 100% that the game we are most likely to lose this year is the @Pitt.
We're definitely going to go in there as underdogs, but I think this game is where we make a point. I see us coming together huge on defense and coming away with the biggest W of the season.
Taking the glasses off and drinking water, I think it's going to be tough for our offense to get rolling and our defense is going to have their work cut out for them. How we come out of this 3 game stretch, like you said, is going to be telling, and I think this game will be the most telling.
We do however have a secret weapon.
We haven't lost while I have worn my Brady jersey (week 2 I was in Kuwait on my way back from leave). I don't leave this base until after the Colts game, so it's pretty much guaranteed 3-0!

Tell the Ravens, San Diego, Miami the Pats are pushovers.

The Patriots will match up well and if they play disciplined; they will win handily.

I attended the 02/05 AFCCG's and the Sep 2005 game. They were physical beatdowns. In fact, the beatdowns were not given justice on television. I have zero doubt we will be more physical this time.

Our dline should manhandle their oline and if we play disciplined and contain R berger, we will do well. The Saints defense did a fantastic job last Sunday and provided the "blueprint" (remember those) for beating them up.

Our new (old) offense of short passes/ spreading them out is ideal, neutralizes their blitzes. BB also know how to make Polamalu's tendencies work against him.

We have much, much more team speed than the Steelers.

They will need Big Ben to play better than he has and just as importantly their O-line. I realize he is most likely getting the rust out, but if he doesn't play at his best they won't beat us. The O-line and Big Ben struggled severly against the blitz last week.

With that said a loss in Pitt would not be a surprise. If they get through the next three games at 2-1 or better this team will almost certainly be in play for the #1 seed. Especially if the Jets drop one of their next two games. And I think they lose to Detroit this week. And we know Mangini will have the Browns up for the Jets game.

Why hasn't SammyB29 been banned? All the poster does is troll and ignore any facts that are presented against his arguments.

Any positive thread turns into a pointless debate with this troll who yells "LOOK AT THE SCHEDULE!" in every topic they've posted in.

Are the mods sleeping?

Has anyone noticed how paradoxical it is to question how accurately a teams' record reflects its capabilities by using a metric based on the assumption that the other teams' records accurately reflect their capabilities?

You ask a very wise question indeed, grasshopper.

But remember: He who go to sleep with itchy bum, wake up with smelly fingers.

With the exception of the New Orleans game, Roethlisberger has played well this season. Granted, it was against Miami and Cleveland, but he had two pretty good games. Hopefully we break down the game film from the New Orleans game to find out what threw him off and we out-execute them.

Stat wise his numbers are good. But he fumbled the ball 3 times against Miami, they only lost 1 should have been two . Some of his decisions have been questionable and he has thrown two picks.

And from what I saw Sunday night the O-line and Big Ben couldn't handle the blitz. The Saints blitzed to his front side and forced him to roll to his left and he couldn't find the open receiver.

Seemed to work pretty well.
