New England Patriots are the best team in the NFL

The Patriots and Giants are playing the best football in the NFL right now and that really isn't debatable. Its the NFL, things could change and most likely will, but right now those two teams are playing the best football.

Ahhhh, crap!

It's true. I doubt we'll see a rematch, but I want one.

Re: Steelers LOSE! Patriots stand alone atop the NFL rankings!

i called them being 6-1 at this point but I had Moss in my predictions but who cares I called 14-2 in the preseason and got called a super homer but who is laughing now

Re: Steelers LOSE! Patriots stand alone atop the NFL rankings!

Actually in the words of our old pal Bono - It's a Beautiful Day, don't let it slip away. Our destiny lies in our own hands now.

Yep definitely the best team in the NFL!

6 wins against powerhouses!

You've got the 2-5 Bengals, the 2-5 Vikings, the 0-7 Bills and the 3-5 chargers!

In fact the combined record of the great teams the Pats have racked these 6 wins against is 16 - 27!!!

Let's face it folks, the Pats have beat ONE good team. The Ravens. And then one mediocre team, Miami. The vast majority of their wins has been chewing up struggling teams.

This is NOT the best team in the NFL. They may have the best record, but look at the strength of the competition they've had.

This might be rosey for the season, but come playoff time, they're not going to get the benefit of playing against this kind of crap competition.

Reality check.

Stay focused young Pats.

That would be epic if we won in a rematch vs the Giants.

^^^Sammy, that is true but there is no denying that the teams we beat have talent. Also we are the number 1 scoring team in the NFL and if the teams we are facing suck then being at number 1 in that stat makes sense.

I predicted 11-5 this season ... epic fail on my homerism factor.

Re: Steelers LOSE! Patriots stand alone atop the NFL rankings!

The weird part is that I'm pretty sure I read that BB was purposely tanking the season by trading Moss. Go figure.

More like Moss is tanking HIS season!

Nice first post. I take it you're a Jest fan. Are you going to put all of the top teams to your little sniff test?

Still plenty of time for him to orchestrate a losing streak. Keep your chin up.

Re: Steelers LOSE! Patriots stand alone atop the NFL rankings!

Once again,

Of those 6 wins: 2-5 Bengals, 2-5 Vikings, 0-7 Bills and 3-5 chargers!

The combined record of teams the Pats have beaten are 16 - 27!!!

The only good team the Pats have beat is the Ravens. The Dolphins are mediocre, and the rest are all struggling teams.

The record might be the best in the league, but the team is not. They've just had an amazingly favorable schedule.

Let's not get too excited just yet. This kind of my play might cut it in the season against scrub teams, but the playoff competition will be a bitttt stronger

So do you disagree with my assessment or not?

Will you try to deny that four of the Pats 6 wins have been against teams that are really struggling? Or that the Pats have really only beat 1 playoff quality team?

Surely you can't be such a blind homer as to not recognize that fact?

It's a troll, of course it won't.

SammyB29, tell us who the best team in the NFL is right now. Or, just name one team you think is clearly better than the Patriots right now.

Surely you would be able do to this, very easy task. Hopefully you can handle it.

I'd prefer not this year with their current record of injuring QBs.

this, thats the last team I wan't to play. They get to the QB at will and without blitzing. Their receivers are big and get good separation and their oline creates good holes for Bradshaw and Jacobs.

Re: Steelers LOSE! Patriots stand alone atop the NFL rankings!

I'm happy that the Pats have the best record in football, but there are no awards for having the best record at the end of October. It is satisfying to see the Pats at 6-1 especially when so many thought this team would be 8-8 or even worse. But I am not going to go overboard. There is a lot of season left.

One thing I will say is that the Jets seem to be trending down and looked to have peaked in September. They should have lost against a bad Denver team. They let Favre and the Vikes stick around. They got shut out by the depleted Green Bay defense (first team to be shut out this season). So much for "the most balanced team in football".

It looks like the Pats and Jets are heading in different directions. That all could change next week, but the Jets offense looks to have derailed and has looked that way for 2 1/2 games.

Took the words right out of BB's mouth!

AHAHAHAH

Tell me, what are the standings of the teams the Jets have beaten? They do have the exact same schedule as us aside from 2 games after all...

Your Jest have beat the Phins, Pats, Broncos, Bills, and Vikings. Other than the Pats, that's not a murderers row either. Your boys lost to the same Ravens team the Pats beat.

You just don't seem to get it. No team in the NFL racks up 10+ wins in a season without feasting on the weak. I don't think you can be helped, so I'm not wasting my time on you.

Hello ignore list.
