...and also provided the last block to send Tate on his way home during the 2nd-half KO.

re: Danny Woodhead: Faulk 2.0??? (merged old and new)

The jets decided to give up on him.

I would think that there is a small chance that we will contribute more than Green-Ellis.

The Jets made a colossal mistake thinking they needed WR David Clowney rather than Tiny Woodhead. The Jets cut Clowney this week and he was signed by anothet team .... LOL

I was one of the first fans on here to clamor for the Pats to sign Woodhead. He is exactly what I thought he would be. I was thinking the Pats would groom him for Faulks eventual replacement, not knowing that replacement would come so soon.

re: Danny Woodhead: Faulk 2.0??? (merged old and new)

The Jets didn't really make a mistake letting him go, they gave him a chance. He had no place in their offense at all, he does however, fit perfectly into ours.

Faulk 2.0

Danny Woodhead

faster, younger, grittier:)

Re: Faulk 2.0

I'm really amazed at how much they're using him; he's doing great. Even keeping him in for some blocking. And those little five-yard-downfield passes -- nice. I'd swear they're using him more than they ever used Faulk.

(As an aside: I tried posting a cleaned up version of the Rex Ryan quote from Hard Knocks on the game thread -- using two letters and an asterisk -- and got kicked off the thread. Considering that quote has been referenced a lot on this board I was surprised. Oh well.)

Anyway -- O has it moving. Nice to see.

Re: Faulk 2.0

Keith was expendable.

You must be thinking of this guy?

Re: Faulk 2.0

How soon they forget.

Re: Faulk 2.0

How do all those Division I Schools feel now???

I bet he could've been a star in DI, atleast we got him. :D

Re: Faulk 2.0

Woody was awesome today, 5 or 6 catches, hitting holes, blocking

Another great pick up

Re: Faulk 2.0

PJ....... Faulk was past his prime. You must learn to let go and make way for the future!!!:):):)

Re: Faulk 2.0

Woodhead was great today, over 100 total yards! 5.7 yards per carry!

I think going forward him and BJGE should be a nice tandem to lead the way at RB.

Re: Faulk 2.0

Indeed.

Faulk was huge for the Pats over many years. I think it's great to see a guy like Woodhead step up and you love to see him do well, but after three games Woodhead is a long way from Kevin Faulk status.

Re: Faulk 2.0

The nicest thing was seeing him pass block so effectively. He wiped out one blitzer, sending him heels over head. Blocking is all about desire, and Woodhead knows what he needs to do to stay on the field in the Faulk role...

Re: Faulk 2.0

He will never be what Faulk was, but it is very nice to see him doing some of the same things that Faulk was known for

Re: Faulk 2.0

Many of the Jets fans who troll this board called me a homer when I said I thought Woodhead would take some plays away from DFaulk before he was injured. I guess I am technically wrong since it was an injury that did that, but I had a strong feeling this guy would make an impact.

That said. There are a lot of things that Faulk could do that Woodhead still can't. Woodhead is off to an amazing start with the Pats and he definitely makes us not have to worry about the loss of Faulk. But he isn't Faulk yet.

Grittier than Kevin Faulk? Who introduced you to football last month?

Don't dis Faulk, kid. I'm thrilled about Woodhead too, but what is the need to trash players not on the active squad?

Kevin has been a freaking warrior for this team long before, I assume, you became a fan. If you can't understand what Faulk gave this team, and still might in the future, I can't help you. Woodhead is turning out great, but that doesn't mean you have to denigrate Kevin Faulk. He's not Faulk yet.

Re: Faulk 2.0

well, needless to say, it seems the faulk replacement we were all looking for we now have found....that is good news

if he continues like this, faulk is not coming back to this team, which is actually good news, b/c it was time

bj is a pretty good power back, we need a shift type power back in this draft now

Re: Faulk 2.0

this kid is better than Faulk

Faulk is out of his prime...... Woodhead is what a rookie???? The kid is not even in his prime.

I respect the past accomplishments of Faulk...... but now?????? NO way he ain't the same cat that he use to be.
