Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

Re: Mixed Feelings on Moss

There is a reason he has the most TDs of all time. There is a reason every WR seems to break out with him throwing the ball. There is a reason he wanted Randy Moss so badly in Green Bay.

It is going to be magical. Maybe not 07' magical, but the Vikings will be a contender and they have an absolutely stacked team with Sir Randall Moss.

I look forward to even more incredibly dumb interceptions. Going to be hard to top that across the body fiasco against NO, but I have faith.

A few reliable writers are predicting Moss to Vikings trade tomorrow.

Is this really happening?

I gave up on the Vikings when they got rid of Moss, I felt at the time it was one of the worst decisions ever. Granted I was much younger, but I didn't understand how getting rid of the best WR in the game makes you a better team

Looks like I may get a second try to find the answer :(

Well looks like he's gone....a serious blow to the team. Welker isn't even 100% yet and Moss is going to come back to foxboro and destroy the pats secondary. This trade will probably easily lose pats 2-4 wins.

A low blow. Us Vikings fans have been through a lot (and as a Pats fan since 07', i've been through a lot...)

Why bring up that game? Thats like me bringing up a game I'm not going to mention...

You must have never seen a guy named Terrell Owens then... Moss is one of the best catching receivers of all time... it isn't exactly easy getting a one handed grab in an NFL game... maybe in practice where nobody cares, but in a huge stadium... only special guys can do that.

Moss is good, but not as good as everyone makes him out to be. I've seen too many drops for someone who is supposed to be the greatest ever. There is more to being a receiver than running fly patterns all game long. And you can't blame it solely on the coaching staff because everyone knows Randy Moss isn't going over the middle, so why bother sending him.

Love Moss on the Patriots and have always appreciated his skills, how he takes defenders away from other guys, and his personality (although admittedly it's a bit quirky).

But if he's not happy here, then it's time for him to go. We saw last year again how having malcontents around is a poison that affects everything (Adalius Thomas, I'm talking to YOU). And when a guy is unhappy after a great game in Miami and shifting the focus (again) to himself when it should be on the team and how they played, well, it's time for him to go.

I will miss him, and no he can't be replaced from a talent standpoint. But if it results in better team chemistry, a commitment from the young guys to step up and fill his shoes, and more of the "nobody believed in us" syndrome, I think it is the right thing to do. Pass the Koolaid, please!

Sage words. Love Randy and wish him well, but there's a situation and it's not going to get better.

Can anyone bring me up to speed on where all of this is going?

I can't dissect an 800 page thread and sort through the BS on ESPN

In a nutshell, there are rumors that the Vikings and Pats have had discussions about a trade involving Randy Moss. The consensus is that if the two sides agree to a trade it will happen Wednesday.

Everything else is filler, opinions and speculation.

he's 40... and he's not exactly great right now... I mean he has been the good old pick machine against the Rams and the Dolphins...

Some people aren't thinking clearly or just not thinking enough.

1) Favre is the oldest dude in football...although reckless at times..his veteran's saviness far out weigh this trait. I really dont think Favre will be chucking it up to Moss on every down...LOL

2) And this is the vital part...the most IMPORTANT piece on the Vikings IS Adrian Peterson...what will other defenses do now? they can no longer creep up and stack the line to tackle AD because Moss would surely requires double coverage. This is gonna be a big headache for any defensive coordinators.
So being a veteran instantly makes you throw less picks? Look at Jake Delhomme... look at Favre now. same situation, except the Viking have no replacement. Adrian Peterson is great alright, but Moss will still be doubled, and Favre will continue to throw picks...

Remember how excited we were when we signed Donte Stallworth?

Ahh, I wish we could go back to that simpler time.

You asked a question, I gave an answer. I'm not going to rehash the Vrabel trade in general, and I don't pretend to know how much of an impact Vrabel had on Johnson. However, if you think that Johnson was "doing just fine" before Vrabel got there, you're crazy. There's a reason that he wasn't starting last year, after all.

Yet you stated "Help salvage the career of a wildly underachieving Derrick Johnson", as one of 3 points in response to my post?

Mention all you want, I'm not in denial. You were the one tooting the geriatric wonders horn, now you're going all sensitive on me? It's not like i said Fran Tarkenton or Joe Kapp.:(

Hey guys i saw this thread at the start and passed it off as rumor. Can anyone tell me exactly what has happened since then because at the time it was just about someone tweeting he might be traded. I am starting to worry that this might actually happen. Has anyone heard the terms? What the compensation would be e.t.c?

Look who he is throwing too. A hurt Harvin. A god awful Berrian (dropping every pass), and Greg Lewis. Remember the Ravens game when brady threw all them INTs? Nobody is blaming him...

6-10 here we come. Look at our schedule, we may even get a top 10 pick earned by the Pats...not just by the Raiders

you are comparing Jake Delhomme with Brett Favre? wow...i'm speechless...

I'm just saying, I'd be upset too if I thought Randy Moss was getting traded for a second round pick...
