Well done. Either would have worked. The duck is a little grosser.

Sweet Jesus. Batten down the hatches, here I come declaring war. Anyway, I just wanted to throw it out there that the launch point for this thread is wrong. What I said was, in my opinion, starting BJGE was an indication that he and Maroney are in a virtual dead heat at this point or BJGE is ahead. Taylor is their best back. Healthy until proven otherwise.

I love the passion you guys show. What's jaw-dropping, though, is the number of times one guy misconstrues what we say, sprints with it and touches off a &*$$ storm.

The fact that people believe I said anything from "Brady will miss 2009" up to "Brady's career is over" is proof of that.

Enjoy the season.

Gotta give the Bold Dragoon credit where credit is due

I liked his running in Buffalo, but I'd say the jury's out until he can do that consistently as a true NFL starter.

What's not in doubt, it seems, is there is something wrong with Maroney. Looks like a mental problem?

Only Ricky Williams can have that type of issue and still destroy defenses.:D

Gotta say I am a little nervous about BJGE starting tonight. He looked great last week, but the Jets kinda showed yesterday that it might have been because the Bills' run defense is horrible. He still looks too slow to me.

LT averaged 7 yards per carry, and Green averaged 5.3 against the Bills, BJGE averaged 6.1 YPC against the Bills and had less than half the carries they had, so what he did is right on part on what the Jets running game accomplished.

He's not a break away runner. I'm more concerned with his power and fighting for that extra yard. Big difference between 3 yards and a cloud of dust and 3.9 yards.

Top rusher tonight for the Pats might only have 25 yards

This game is going to see the football fly on our side,I hope our OL is up to it because Miami is going to be doing a lot of blitzing since no team is going to respect the Pats running game this season.

Crumpler will probably be seeing time as a FB for blocking purposes and I expect to see the 3 TEs spend alot of time on the field.

I fully expect this game to be one where its scoring drive after scoring drive from one team to the other and possibly the last team with the ball wins.

If you like defensive battles, I suggest watching WWE Raw tonight instead.

Typically the more you carry, the lower your YPC. So I don't know if carrying it less means anything. I still think you make a strong case that the Bills are just a horrible run defense.

I'd say it's likely a physical problem; something happened either last year that he never recovered from or maybe this year, I'd guess, because he just isn't that good right now.

As for BJGE being the starter, I still don't think I'd call him that. He's starting because Fred Taylor's hurt and because Faulk's injury forced Morris into the 3DRB role, although you can argue that BJGE passed Morris outright even before Faulk's injury. Either way, the 2 RB injuries obviously played a major role in BJGE's elevation. It holds true for everyone on the roster that they could become a starter if enough guys in front of them get hurt.

Trying to look at it like Benny ... this is his coming out party. This kid has been busting his hump since day 1 here with the Patriots. Tonight he gets to show all the league that he belongs. I'm sure he realizes he's never going to get 20-25 carries a game here. But he has a shot to show he belongs and I bet he does.

My guess for tonight is 80-85 yards for Ben on 13 carries ... lucky 13.

Looks like it will be a TE evening but there will be some carries for Ben mixed in to keep the fish honest.:D

75-80 yards a game in this offense IMO is a good night if you break 1 or 2 you get the 100.

What time does the inactive roster come out?

I am hoping Sammy is ready

Fred Taylor made a point of coming over to him and asking him to put into print that " Ben Jarvis deserves this opportunity to be the lead back. He is a good running back. Print that. "

So Fred Taylor likes BJGE? Sounds like a good endorsement since he gets to see the kid in practice on a daily basis. I think BJGE has a real shot to become the main back if he can prove himself against the Dolphins. The Bills' D isn't considered nearly as good. so if Ben can get us around 90 yards again, that will provide the balance needed to attack the Fish without being predictable.

The offense is so much better with Law Firm than Maroney.

Maroney stunk it up this week on the Broncos, to the point where Captain Obvious Peter King even noticed it and called out Maroney on MMQB.

Meanwhile, Law Firm continues to always run north-south, consistently put the offense in 2nd and 7 or 3rd and 3 situations, as well as give the team a legitimate battering ram for the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Yes. Many on this board had BJGE not making the 53 man roster.

Believe it or not, some posters had the audacity to say that the line has been blocking better in the past two games, which is why BJGE has been successful. Some just put the blinders on and continue to discount the hard work that this kid has put in to get him to this point.

Meanwhile, poor run blocking seems to have infected the Broncos line as well. Started about two games ago.

Yes I believe that some astute analyists realize that with the power TEs and continued hard work by the OL they ARE blocking better.

Look at the holes. MUCH bigger.

That said Law Firm deserves props for his work and his North South style. A stud.
