SIMPLE SOLUTION
Belichick knows what to expect out of Maroney, Taylor and Faulk.
Belichick wants to decide what do with Morris and Green-Ellis.
The SIMPLE SOLUTION is to give them lots of reps to get info.

ALTERNATIVE

The SIMPLE SOLUTION is to give him lots of reps to get info to help make his decision more informed. It would make little sense to have BJGE play with the 3's.

There is one big reason to believe Curran's story: it is the simplest explanation for the fact that BJGE started and played all the way with the "1"s. None of the other explanations really make sense, or sound like the way BB works.

The simplest explanation is BB wants to see if he's got what it takes and to do that he needs to give him as many reps as possible. He knows what he's got in the other backs.

The "rotating" explanation makes perfect sense, so I don't really get what you're trying to claim.

I love how the BJGE saga is slowly creeping and creeping...........

Then why did Morris only get one rep where he dropped a pass from Hoyer?

The fact is, most of the reps were divided between BJGE, Clayton, and C. Taylor.

I'm cool with it. I'll take a guy with a 3.2 (or whatever) average over a guy who's on the bench with an annual injury.

Maroney and Faulk matter the most. Taylor is close, he had some nice moments. I like Morris too, but there will be 4 RB's tops. So Benny or Sammy are toast, imo.

Is this the same Curran who, last week, was positive that Brady was furious at the Pats over his contract? Curran has zero credibility, and hasn't had any for over a year.

The simplest explanation is that Maroney, Taylor, and Morris are locks to make the team, and among them all that really mattered was getting Maroney some carries down by the goal line to get him used to running in traffic behind a revamped line. BJGE is competing for the #5 spot, and 34 yards on 11 carries doesn't exactly help his case.

Perhaps, an in the ALTERNATIVE below, Belichick knows what he has in Morris. Perhaps Morris will get more reps in the second preseason game.

The alternative has been my argument against what you have been saying. Why else would BJGE, Clayton, and C. Taylor receive the most reps, if not to be evaluated for the 5th position.

That is my argument.

I would think, if the past is any indication, that preseason game three will foreshadow the RB rote

That's a pretty poor example. Silver was the one who wrote that Brady and the Pats had a disconnect, and their relationship is so good that Brady's 1 lone interview this year so far has been with Silver.

Brady has reason to be pissed.

Here's the link on that:

9. Running back rotation. In a surprise, it was third-year back BenJarvus Green-Ellis as the top runner; he played 21 of the 31 first-half snaps. Veteran Fred Taylor didn't play, and said after the game that he was aware that would be the case. The plan, Taylor said, is to feature different running backs at various points during the preseason.

Every credible journalist out there insisted that there would be no holdout. Silver is not credible. But if you need more proof, go ahead and check this out:

Bottom line: if Curran says something, and it's opinion-based, then it's probably wrong.

It is strange that besides the Jets sucking BJGE is one of the most popular topics here. Strange for a #5th rb.

Not really. Trade Brady was the biggest non-gamethread of all time until the Jets Suck thread.

Ok let's assume we trade him for a pick (not a player). Taylor and Morris go down with injury (both have missed games every season they have been here), that leaves Maroney with an unknown backup, such as C. Taylor or Clayton.

How sensible is that?

I lost you at the part where somebody gives us a pick for him. Why would we expect that?

On the manic depressive swing that is Pats.com, I was for keeping him when everyone said he was a bum.

I am against people that think he is more than a marginal player hanging on by his fingernails. OK?

I must have misunderstood you then. My apologies.

From what I saw in training camp, all the backs rotated during drills yes, but in the offense v defense drills in which it was clear it was the #1 offense vs #1 defense running plays, Law Firm was the starting RB.

I don't see why it's so out of question to think he could be the starter. Who cares about his draft pedigree.

If the Pats ever released him, Denver would scoop him up in a second.
You are the only one saying it has anything to do with when they were drafted.

I must have misunderstood you then. My apologies.

Yes you did.:D Sorry if i was flip, I just can't say, you misunderstood me, I have to be a wise guy.
