3. Trading out the first round in 2009 to get second rounder and two third round picks from the Packers. Hopefully Darius Butler, MacKenzie or Tate can produce, otherwise this will look like a huge mistake by Bill. He passed on Oher and Clay Matthews.
How do you spell relief? "P-A-S-H R-U-S-H"
As we all know, what a difference that would make.
A lot of people are kicking dirt on the Pats run of success and calling it the end of this "dynasty" while comparing it to others in the NFL that have come and gone like the Steelers, Cowboys and 49ers. Schein takes a different approach and compares the past to the Yankees.

I agree, plenty of good pieces still here to build another solid team to compete for SB titles.
No, there aren't; nor are there any forthcoming, as long as Bill is buying the groceries.
Brandon Tate is going to be a stud.
Hey, no worries guys. Zoostation from the internet says Brandon Tate is "going to be a stud."
Seems like a pretty open-and-shut case to me.
As much as everyone wants to make fun of zoostation's opinion here, I have to say that I am excited about Tate, if he can stay healthy. He is a tremendous asset as a kick returner, he's physical and he's fast. I think he is the best receiver prospect they've had on this team in years--talent wise he matches up with the Chad Jacksons and Bethel Johnsons they've had in years past.
Now, I sure hope that he has to scratch and fight just to make the team, because they've brought in some veteran talent and maybe someone in through the draft to compete for a spot. I still think we're going to see Brandon Tate making some plays for the Pats---IF he can shake the injury bug.
Lord knows those 2 guys turned into real stallions for our team!!
I'm really hoping this guy is even good enough to be a 4th WR, and it doesn't take him 4 years to "get it", especially since his 1st year was a waste.
You're right that BB has never done anything right when it comes to the draft, free agency or winning
In his first 5 years, Bill did more right than wrong.
In his last 5 years, he's done more wrong than right.
That's why this is a franchise in decline, and will continue to decline as long as Bill has final & unquestioned say on personnel matters, and the coordinators of his undermanned & underpaid coaching staff are inexperienced, subservient lackeys.
Success in New England is measured by Superbowl wins in some fan's mentality the wrothbroughterer. We've been useless since 2005 evidently. When a 2 conference games, a SB appearance, 4 playoff appearances, and a 59-21 record (all in the past 5 years) doesn't cut it for you I think you need to re-evaluate what you consider success.

From 18-1 to 11-5 to 10-7: would you call that trending toward success?
I'm now opening threads just to read the tags.
Well, the big difference is that the Yankees went to a quarter billion dollar payroll and stayed "in contention." The Pats are need to live with a cap and that always makes it hard to keep the stable full.
Also, if the Patriots go the way of the Yankees (I think I just threw up in my mouth) then what is the NFL equivalent to blowing Game 4 up 1 run in the 9th inning with a 3-0 series lead...then systematically losing the next 3 games to go down as history's biggest chokers?
