I guess there is a chance (ala Theo/Manny 2005) but with cap-implications, trading partners, etc. I doubt it. IMO it was purely performance/attitude-related and I think all things being equal, BB wants AD on this team.
Bill is a pretty straight shooter. That's what players ultimately respect about him. If AD were fighting through things or just hit a rough patch Bill would let him know what he needed to do and why. AD got the message from his position coach at the same time the list was being released Sunday afternoon... You don't do that to a starter and potential core player unless you are pretty damn annoyed and sending a very thinly veiled message. Bill intends to let outside pressure force AD to do some soul searching. If he thought he'd simply physically lost it (as Zolak surmized) he wouldn't embarass him. He never did that to Dillon because the effort remained but his body failed him.
