Official Pats/Ravens POST GAME Discussion

I was not a fan of the last possession the pats had on O. They score a FG it is a 2 score game. 2 dive plays and a roll out which takes half the field away from Brady. I just did not see play calling to win the game thats all.
Defense played great today. They stepped up in when they needed to. Meriweather was all over the place. I think this year could be his coming out party. The offense scored in the red zone and the wide outs were catching passes that they should have. Overall a great win againest a tough team.

P.S. Gallaway needs to pay attention to how the wide outs played today or his gone.

P.P.S GO SAINTS!

I'm sorry but the D SUCKED the last drive against the birds. They were flying through the first half perfectly and then...... what happened?

No they didn't.. Flacco went no huddle on that last drive.

But the D made a stop when they had to.

What a big difference we made when GALLOWAY was out of the sideline today !

The more I watch Maroney, the more I think that the only way he gets re-signed is if he starts getting more involved in the passing game. It is probably a bit hopefull to say he could be the next Kevin Faulk, but in the open field he is much different than when he runs the ball.
As far as his KO returns go, what is Edelman doing? Is he avoiding contact or is he supposed to go directly to the second level of defenders? He is doing so many things well, but I keep seeing the first man on KO coverage going straight thru to Maroney.

Brady's play today

I thought that Tom played like his old self again. I been get tried of all the "experts" saying that something was wrong and he was not right mentally. I think last week when he blew up and let every have it. He got something out of his system and went to work doing what he always been doing. The "experts" and the NFL may just need to rethink about Tom Brady not being mentally right.

Major improvements on accuracy and making reads. He is getting into rhythm now. Just has to finish red zone drives.

21/32 for 258yds and 1TD. I think he missed a few throws but he also made some that he'd been missing. He looked pretty good in the pocket and out of it.

Anyone else notice that, especially early in the game, we seemed to be trying to run right at Ray Lewis? Had some success at it too- I wonder if the rest of the league will pick up on that, and what it could mean for the Ravens if that becomes a trend.

I think it helps that he trust the receivers on the field.

Re: Brady's play today

I don't know if he is back to his old self quite yet, but I kept thinking how many smart decisions he is making. There were a few plays when he had a LOT of time to throw a bomb but decided not to test the coverage. Aside from Matt Light messing up on one play, the offense is holding on to the ball well.

No kidding. Say what you want about the D, but it made two fourth-down stops in the last 5 minutes. If you really need to blame someone, blame the offense for not being able to get a first down... the defense was fine.

Re: Brady's play today

today was definitely a big step forward for Brady. He's still got a ways to go, but he's making great progress, so I'm happy. Of course, who knows how much of that was simply a matter of Welker being back...

Experience like today is GOLD for this young D. Sure, mistakes were made and the Ratbirds drop was huge but the 2009 D is fast and doesn't tire, something our social security defenses since 2004 have had problems with. Tremendous talent shown by Merri and our #2 pick #28 out there. Great pass rush, even w/o #93. Just needs more experience.

I would agree with that. That possession disappointed me a lot. We needed to make first downs. Two firsts and we have a 9 point lead with around 2 minutes left and the game is essentially over. Instead we used up about a minute and a half of clock time and gave the ball back with over 3 minutes and a 6 point lead. We were lucky the defense bailed us out against a very potent Baltimore offense (wow, never thought the day would come when I used "potent" and "Baltimore offense" in the same sentence).

I'm so revved up all I can say is LET'S PLAY TWO!!!!

don't want the day to end...

Not sure if anyone mentioned this...but Michael Irvin (the Rhodes Scholar) on NFL Network picked the Ravens and said they would "easily beat the Pats"...yup, good call idiot.

The Post Game thread is SO much better than the Game Thread. Too many ****ey fans that get all wee-weed up and throw in the towel at every missed play. I am NOT talking about guys who post legit criticisms of play calling or coverage, etc.

Brady did not miss Galloway at all today.

Hope you enjoyed playing with the Pats.
