Zach Cunningham Tread

Skipping a Covid test means he could be sick beyond not liking losing. But skipping a league mandated test is a losing move in its own right.

He forced his way out of town when that town had no desire to keep him.

I see no reason the Pats should be interested in picking him up now. Maybe bring him to training camp to see if he’ll toe the line and cut the mustard, but I’m not liking the odds on either of those. Certainly don’t like them enough to risk disrupting a team on a roll right now.

And there will be a dozen guys with his skill set and potential that won't bring the baggage, all competing for what will be two or three invites to camp. The odds are very much against him unless someone intervenes behind the scenes on his behalf.

Surprised he fell all the way down to TEN. Im sure his attitude will change quickly. Not the best outcome for NE. Big win for the player.

The Titans showed a disregard for the seriousness of COVID last year and should been punished more harshly and, probably not coincidentally, were involved with the first significant outbreak this year. Seems like Cunningham went to the right team.

There was absolutely no reason for the patriots to potentially mess with excellent team chemistry and simultaneously add an unvaccinated player who would’ve been a backup, at best. All of the current players have clearly bought in, so this dipshit had the potential to do more harm than good.

I am guessing that

His base salary next year is $10 million ($11 million in 2023 and $12.5 million in 2024). So he is probably a rest of the season rental. So it was doubtful that a team out of the playoffs would take him.

And of course, we have watched the Rams take a step back after getting Von Miller and OBJ. So some teams may not see it a good thing to have a guy who is a character question mark breaking up the chemistry of their team.

Vrabel coached him in his rookie year, so there is some connection there. cheap signing for good depth this late in the season.

That is why the Titans took him. I am saying why the teams that were higher on the waiver wire might have passed on him.

But the covid police said no one would take him because he might not be vaccinated. Oh the humanity, the Titans just don't care.

No one actually said, "no one would take him".

People said that Cunningham's vaccination status presents a situation that teams will need to navigate. It's not a full-on dealbreaker, but it's a consideration, and if a team rightfully is concerned that COVID could be disruptive to their locker-room, they may pass on him for that reason. Ditto because of his lack of effort, coaching, showing up late, so forth.

It's a variable that the people managing these teams will consider. No one argued he's completely untouchable, but that his lack of a vaccination is a consideration and they're right.

“What are you talking about? Un-vaccinated players have to get tested daily and he skipped it. They cut him the next day. His vaccination status just got him cut.

Plus, with the rules requiring un-vaccinated players to stay out of the team facility for 10 days after close contact with a COVID-positive person added to the fact that that the Patriots have players on the COVID list now, means they could sign him, bring him to team meeting, find out the next day that someone in that meeting had COVID, and he's out for 10 days.

Kinda hard to bring someone in for the last 24 days of the season when a sniffle could kick them off the team for 10 of those days.”

Pretty much says he is untouchable, not making this up, read the thread

"Kinda hard" means "untouchable", that does seem consistent with what I read in the dictionary.

Quibble all you want. A few posters here are way overstating what nfl teams think about vaccination status. Ever single thread about every single possible player acquisition. If a player can play his vaccination status seems to mean absolutely nothing to the teams. They don’t care.
